Great review! I was wondering if you’ve ever tried the Behringer C1 and if so what do you think is the better option that or the Samson C1
I own MXL 770 condenser mic. Couldn't be more pleased with its performance. Used an electronic tester on my amps phantom power. 24 volts is sufficient to power MXL 770 just fine.

Hey man! Which is better akg 120 or samson c01 for my singing, creating a small home studio. I m from india.
Amazing what you can get for very little money these days. The Samson C01 was the first condenser mic I bought back in around '03. I think there are better options these days, and in this shootout, I preferred the 770. With these prices, you could buy all three, try them out for a while, then sell the ones that didn't make the cut on Reverb :-) Good singing, and thanks for the video.

There's a definite background hiss (high noise floor) with the Samson, which is why I've retired mine to the back of a shelf. Mixing either spoken or singing vocals, or even guitar, required too much noise removal which took away the highs from the recording. I've been using the MXL 770 for a little while now with much better results.
Yeah, the MXL is a better option as well in my opinion 👌🏼

I would go with the Audio Technica AT2020 👌
IMHO the AT 2020 best suits higher pitched voices, like yours indeed. It's likely too soft for a baritone like me if one is looking for some harmonics (again, like me), but I'd have to try it personally.

Great video as always bro, but honestly for this price point I would recommend the AKG P120, because of its frequency response. It’s relatively flat with a slight boost in the air region, where the three of these are really lumpy and inconsistent and don’t really boost in the right areas. For the same price, I definitely think it’s one that’s worth looking into.

I own a Samson C01 and I wanted to upgrade to the AT2020. But I needed to see if it was worth the upgrade. I think its really not that big of an upgrade when It comes to the sound. I think I can save a little more and get something above this price point. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much.

at2020 seems to have a bit of high boost compared to samson co1 but when you know how to eq, I don't think it's worth upgrading.

the camson c01 was one of my first and it great for rap vocals is hate the 2020 too brittle
All of them are very rare in my country since covid19, lately only akg p120 available again for that price range.

I had it. It has a very low volume in windows 10 and windows 8 and it needs really quiet environment. But it has a good sound quality I agree👍🏻

I want to use it for vocals mainly but the more versatility the better. So *_Vocals & Instrument_* handle as well.
If you want to use it in more versatile way... AKG P120. Have a pad and low cut... Sound good too.

I like the mxl better than audio technica but if you realy notice it , the Samson mic has a subtly less boxy sound to the mxl but I think it has to do to the vocals just being somewhat less structured or richer sound overall to the vocals almost like its a bit tiny, not in volume but in overall eq structure , kina like when they use lower ohm in headphones to simulate better sound as it peaks harder and in this case not doing so, for what it is in eq and bass for a particular driver if that makes any sense , the sound with the technica having a little bit boxy sound, not by to much more but still more than the other 2 , to just ears anyways ,other than that , I do like the overall sound of mxl although the techina has a bit more clarity it may seem or mabey it just may be that it is less warmer 😀
I will see that other videos have also said very positive things about the Audio Technica AT2020. I try to watch a few videos to make sure that tech is liked my all of at least most of the hosts.

i can tell by compare on my linear monitors. i decided to buy 770. audiotechnica sounds harsh and like much sibilance sounds - samson sounds kind of boxy with harsh mids but overall nice tone ftw. 770 is winner.

AT2020 has a tiny bit more detail the high end and more detail in the low end. It extends more in the low end too.
