Not exactly. Because The Bob Barker stalled the whaling fleet therefore the whalers couldn't hunt whales for that period of time making them have less catches for that season. I believe they were able to kill around 250 whales instead of there quota of around 700. The whalers eventually left early and blamed Sea Shepherd.

I forgot one stipulation: Give the destroyer to the Japanese and arm it with a full load of torpedoes. Sea Shepherd crew are both pirates and the poorest seamen I have ever seen.
That would mean they would be effective and that does not make good viewing for their fellow LARPERS. with the millions of $ they get TAX Free you would think they would have better training and ships. This is possibly stupider than Finding Bigfoot.
You could try redirecting the lrad back at them. Try some old satelite dishes or even really large metal mixing bowls and try to aim the sound back at the operator. Try the air powered tube like they use at sporting events as a t shirt cannon to send stuff back at them. Put that really sticky black stuff, that the manufacturer claims can seal a hole in a boat and make it watertight, in a breakable container or balloon and shoot that over. If it gets in the winches or on the lrad or anywhere else, it will really muck them up.1
I see these videos and they are evolving and coming up with new ways to fight back and you folks at a standstill. They have water cannons, you should have bigger ones with more range. Use one with high pressure and small nozzle and the water will be almost like a cutter. For a prop fouler, in addition to the buoys, add a pair of inflatable balloons that inflate 30 seconds after water contact so it really floats up into the prop. You really need a dirty tricks department. Try fireworks.
Redirecting would be ineffective. The Db loss would be too great. Whatever they would use to redirect it would absorb too much of the sound, it was able to redirect any at all. Sound travels from its source in all directions, including up and down. The dish you speak of would have to be enormous and redirect all of the noise. It's just not possible.

Um...not absorb the sound like that. There would be absorption by the material, but not enough to eliminate it. The only thing that would work is placing a large rubber coated wall around the ship. The sound waves are so compact at those higher frequencies that some would hit the satellite dish you were referring to, but there's so many of them that it would be ineffective. Think of the sound waves as rays of light. They go everywhere. You would literally need one that spans most of the ship, and the cost would be huge. But it would prevent the proper saftey and vision for maneuvering of the ship.

Hoops Highlights everything we eat was living at one time. Whale can feed a large amount of people for years and every part of the animal is used. This isn’t a endangered species of whale.
That's because you're an asshole. That ship intentionally rammed the Sea Shepherd. That is ILLEGAL, and that captain of that ship should lose his license and never be a captain again. He should also go to jail for attempted murder.
That being said, I don't think there is much the Sea Shephard can do to these whaling vessels, physically. If they get within 50 feet of another ship, they are also breaking the law and should pay the consequences. The way to stop these vessels is in the courts and just report any illegal fishing, along with video evidence, to the appropriate agencies.

The Bob Barker has a large inboard engine to make it capable of approaching the maximum hull speed for their full displacement hull. It is rated to 3000 horsepower. For a 400hp diesel inboard, you should expect to burn around 30-50 gallons per hour (which is around 1-1.5 tons). Obviously, a 3000hp engine burns way more, somewhere in the rough range of 200-400 gallons per hour, which is around 6-12 tons of fuel. The amount of fuel they burn is insane compared to how many whales they have actually saved.
Now apply that logic to the whalers please

In my experience Sir, I will suggest to bring in your boat old (big tire) or use your old rope. We use it every time we enter in crowded port, to protect our side of the ship.
If again they will do that maritime tactics to in circle your ship. I suggest Sir to switch off your AIS, by doing that if you will lower your speed they will not read you easily and what is your course intent . Target the bow of the ship in front of you. full ahead you will gain speed and escape. We use that tactics for many times Sir in West Phil. Sea to the Chinese Coast Guard.

Secondly, I would have been satisfied with them circling me for hours, if not an entire day, costing them thousands of dollars in wasted time,... time they are not harpooning whales.
