Wow, you are an amazing art professor! I did my undergraduate work in visual arts. I spent a lot of time at the Louvre in Paris trying to figure out most of the iconography on my own. But your stories, your perceptions, and your knowledge of the work and biographies of the artist are extraordinary. Thank you so very much.
professor clark should check out mitch griffiths, a contemporary painter who works in the caravaggio-ish style in that he direct paints incredibly detailed and realistic works, no drawings or underpaintings, just pure gestural brushwork refined into mind-blowing detail , and he documents his whole process on his instagram
I should check it out! When I was in art school No one and I mean NO ONE was painting in an naturalistic style. That's all changed. There's been a huge increase in interest in the old masters and their techniques. Really cool stuff.
Professor Clark i have a question for you. I am studying to be a highschool FACS and history teacher. I am wondering if it would be at all possible for me to job shadow you in the future? I love your teaching style and would like to learn how to replicate it for the topics I aim to teach. I would also like to discuss teaching highschool vs being a college professor. I havent decided yet which level of education I would like to teach. Last thing I want to say is that my mother has been an art teacher for the past 39 years and is retiring after this year. She is also a big fan of your videos and appreciates that your fame is stemming interest in art history. Have a wonderful day and I look forward to hearing back from you
Thank you for the kinds words! Actually I wouldn't mind that at all, but unfortunately, I am stuck in the basement for the foreseeable future. Because of Covid I will be teaching online until sometime next summer. However, if you are in the Utah County region I would be happy to have you come by sometime after that. You can find my contact info on the UVU webpage. When we get closer give me an e-mail and we can discuss it then.
@@arthistorywithtravisleecla6343 thank you! I'm currently a student at KSU, but I'd be willing to make the trip after covid is over. Stay healthy and ill shoot you an email shortly just so you'll have my contact info for the future.
Naples and Sicily were ruled Spain (technically, I think, the Crown of Aragon, but happy to be educated), which explains the close Spanish-Italian connection

Hi. I’m loving these lectures. I did find however that this lecture and the one that follows didn’t make it into the playlist.
I need these in Podcast/Audiobook form lol
I mean... the visuals are pretty important, no?
Sir, I don't know why but this video isn't showing up in the Art History From the Renaissance playlist.

Nitpricking.... The women actually don't see Him at the grave. They see the empty grave, which is enough for them. The guys want more.
