  • If you have been using the Windows Voice Recorder in the past to make voice recordings, then you might want to try out the improved Sound Recorder app that will be replacing the Voice Recorder. This new app has some extra features such as having the ability to place markers in your recordings, change the playback speed as well as change the file type and audio quality. If you still have the Voice Recorder, then you can try to update it via the Microsoft Store in the Library section. There appears to be a 3 hour time limit on recordings so keep that in mind.

    this is why people hate windows. such a simple app that has missed the most obvious need that everyone wants. trim.

    I echo everyone's comments here regarding the lack of audio trimming capability. I looked and searched for 30 minutes for the trim button. Useless, I need to go back to my old PC with an old purchased copy of Cool Edit Pro. A program that's 20 years old and worlds ahead of what there is now.

      You mean you don't give a fudge about the dark theme! Windows doesn't have a way to trim audio, especially Windows 11 but you can do it online for free.

    I recorded 5 hours but Windows shorted it to 3 hours...? Now I have recorded 2 hours completely for nothing? Could you help me, can I somehow restore the other 2 hours

    • @OnlineComputerTips
      @OnlineComputerTips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Apparently there is a time limit of 3 hours for recording. I have never used it for that long so I guess there would have been know way to know unless you found out the hard way like you did.

      In the Sound Settings, enable Stereo Mix as an input device. Allow it to be used. In the Sound recorder , on the lower left use the drop down arrow to select Stereo Mix as the input device.

      i use VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device ... it installs a virtual CABLE Input and CABLE output so you can record computer audio straight to the computer (without going thru the speakers or whatnot)... only downside is that you can't hear what you're recording so you just gotta calculate start/stop or just edit/trim later. Hope that helps!
