piposanchez The guitar isn't frusciante's, it is a '63 stratocaster, which is I admit very similar to Johns '62, but the wear is different if you look there isn't the disctinctive wear on the top horn on the guitar that was on frusciantes

Veo esto y digo: vaya que Josh si que mejoró demasiado y esta canción es un claro ejemplo, veo el video y me doy cuenta que le cuesta tocar la intro, desde el 2016 cuando lo tocaba en vivo, ya le era bastante fácil y lo tocaba bien, en este video se nota que le bajaron el volumen d esa guitarra como siempre, pero en estos últimos conciertos que dió uff que joyita verlo tocar, gracias Josh ♡

i disagree with your comment on him trying to imitate johnny, josh has his own style. hes not only a guitarist but a keyboard player and a drummer. he never plays the same thing twice...ever..if you watch anything about him in depth you would figure that out. but not many people give him the opportunity to bring good vibrations to ones ears.

las comparaciones son odiosas,cada cual tiene su manera de tocar y de sentir la musica,frusciante ovbiamente encaja mas en el sonido de los rhcp pero a la vez encuentro que josh le da tanto en las voces como en la guitarra un sonido mas bonito y musical ,aparte de que las composiciones son algo personal y josh intenta hacerlas parecidas y creo que ahi hay un error...como guitarristas ambos son buenos en su estilo aunque en esta ocacion me parece que snow suena mucho mas interesante con josh que con jhon tanto en el solo como la 2 voz

i see a lot of comments about josh not being as good as john and this is essentially a cover, josh isnt going to play it like john, hes not using the same amps or pickups. josh isnt any less skilled as a musician than john. josh's amp settings dont have as much mids or sparkly treble as johns and to be frank all of john's tone came from his hands, he isnt going to play it like john he is going to play it like josh, if josh focused on sounding like john he wouldnt be josh

Josh is actually a drummer primarily, so for one of his second instruments to be so good that he can play in one of the biggest bands ever is amazing! This riff is so much stress on a guitarist's hand it's insane. Most struggle to play it whilst sat down, so to play it consistently, whilst also being an interesting performer and singing is pretty good. John doesn't even come in to the argument, Nobody ever watches some guys cover of Classical Gas and says 'Well that wasn't as good as Mason Williams'
Brilliant performance. And Josh is a great musician, you can't deny that. I think he has given the band a boost because of his modesty and his close attention for the other bandmates.
If you don't like him just because he "replaced" John (which is not the case: John left the band), then do some research... He has made beautiful songs with John, and he has some awesome work of his own too. Shame on John for leaving, but nice that we can get to know Josh's talents now.

RHCP has always provided us with good music because that's the way they want it. That's their form. RHCP is what they do and not what each component does. If you can't stand by RHCP just because of a change in their lineup, then don't listen to RHCP at all. Leave everything that is RHCP and don't call yourself a fan(I'm guessing you are not). Cuz Frusciante is my favourite musician,my inspiration to learn to play Guitar, but he's past, he is out of the band cuz he wants, so lets be cool with Josh, he's a great guitarist, and is trying to keep the band's fans happy.

And no point being bitter about it, Josh and John are good friends, and have worked together on many things. He's not Dave Navarro, and he has no intentions of slowly killing the band. It's not like John was an original member anyway, so there's even less of an argument for him.

I never thought about Anthony's singing ability because I never compare him to anyone, since there are no one to compare him to. There is no fair comparison. Who are you comparing him to? The only fair comparison would be if there is a clone of Anthony and there ain't.
You can't say that pear is better than tangerine, they are completely different. You can't put any equation except the one which says one is NOT the other. Tangerine is not pear and vice versa. Anthony is Anthony and that's what he is doing and it fits great!

I LOVE Josh's work on I'm With You. He's such an incredible guitarist. However, its also hilarious to watch him struggle through John's parts. It's not that Josh sucks, it just goes to show how good John was.

Josh bothers me. Not because he is any less of a guitarist then John, or that he replaced John. It's a true gift that Josh was there. But because he has taken over from who I classify as the "Guitar God Frusciante", it just seems like he is trying to be too much like John. Mainly in the way he holds himself while playing or the fact that he's using the same fucking Fender as john. I don't know. Maybe i'm just being paranoid. I am a huge John Frusciante fan.
watched rhcp live last night, its no secret josh isnt doing to well with the older songs vocally but i found his guitar work to be above and beyond. he also did a solo rendition of red pony and it was amazing.
He's playing with the tone rolled off, playing sounds smoother and imperfections on a song like this don't pop out as much when you play with the tone set low
the sound o muffed and so unclear ! Teh guiart is so important and the frusciante style was so clear taht it is strage to me ear this dude playing, specially in this song ! BUT HEY WHAT TO DO ...! aND I LIKE JOSH ! As a dude can like the substitute to THE MAN !
If you were a sound engineer , would you tweak too much with what volume the band is playing at ? probably not a good idea to mess with someone's presentation of their art, if they like the tone and the volume, let it be ...

Why does everyone give Josh so much shit? It's not like he kicked John out of the band. Obviously I wish John never left the band but he did to pursue his own solo career and I applaud him for that. Josh is a talented musician and as a fan of the Chili Peppers I welcome him with open arms.
I dunno why just doesn't tune it down a half step and make things a lot easier for him to get that beautiful voice of his out there ( it would be in Am if it was tuned a half step down thus it being able to be played up at the nut )

I think the confusion lies that people who upload the song detunes the song a little, to avoid the copyright issues. I have never ever seen Frusciante played tuned down.
I don't get all the hate on Josh, I think the guy's fantastic. Besides I doubt Frusciante would have worked with him so many times if he were as bad as most people make out.
