Hector the Hero is the well-known traditional Scottish Air written by James Scott Skinner and played in the key of A. What a haunting melody!
The full lesson includes sheet music, guitar backup tracks, multiple instructional videos, A/B video looping, video speed controls, and MP3 audio downloads. - เพลง
This is the best version I’ve ever heard - moving but not overwrought. Truly inspiring!
I love this version, as you may already know. It takes quite a master of the bow to play a tune so well. This is coming from a regular listener who purchased “Silver”. Thanks for so many wonderful videos, and that goes for the whole team. 😊 ❤. T. Ferris
My name is Hector and I approve this song!
Thank you.
Only 806 likes for something so beautiful. The world has gone blind to true beauty. What a shame.
Overcoming with grace and charm . Captivating everything Scottish , and the Gaelic feeling that is demonstrated here is forever haunting . Music from the soul to the listeners privileged heart . Sadness and beauty intertwined .
I don't know how to play, but I do love your talent and this song is hauntingly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Love, love, love this performance💕💕💕 Such a beautiful song and the rich tone from your violin is wonderful💎 Thank you Hanneke🙏
What a beautiful tune! I can't tell you how glad I am to see your playing and technique on TH-cam, now that I've taken lessons from you at fiddle camp!
Awesome! Keep working on those exercises we talked about!
Just wonderful! I'm learning this tune on the pipes - but this is just perfect! I could play this all day long - reminds me of folk long gone now - faces now only in photograghs - god bless them all.
+Russ McPherson my favorite tune on the pipes without a doubt!!
Brought a tear to my eyes, you are a fine player young lady, thank you.
This was just gorgeous. And I don't just mean the song; the performance was really emotionally charged. I loved it.
Thanks, Daniel. Hanneke Cassel is a great talent, and we're so thrilled she's a part of this journey. She's fairly awesome. Stay tuned for more from Hanneke, Casey, and more instructors.
Wow, I keep coming back to this video to hear such lovely playing!
Simply extraordinary. I always listen to it several times in a row and always notice something new.
I love, love, love this piece and the beautiful way you play it makes it even better! I could listen to it all day!
What a beautiful rich tone you have, Hanneke!
Beautiful, and greetings from Scotland.
So beautiful and moving - thank you so much!
I started playing 28 years ago. I decided to learn the song. So many variation on the internet but I've decided I'm gonna learn it the way you play it, or at least as close as I can mimic it. Well played. You really have a lovely way of playing music.
One of my favourite tunes. It was played at my son's funeral 24 years ago, and again at my uncles funeral a couple of years ago, by Tommy and Siobhan Peoples, my daughter and ex.
Maria Peoples Thanks, Maria. It is a timeless melody, for sure. So haunting.
Hanneke plays it beautifully. No one played it like Tommy Peoples. RIP
I am sorry that it has to be associated with a sadness of a funeral, but I also am fairly certain its tones bring a salve to the heart strings and coax sweet memories into following.
Sad, sweet, thoughtful, a little uplifting too; & very well played to boot! Thanks!
This is just amazingly beautiful! The tune itself, but also the way Hanneke plays it. just got tears in my eyes. So pure and emotional! many thanks!
Beautiful to listen to and look at!! Well done violin and guitar; bravo!!
Absolutely beautiful. Well done!
Best version around bar none. How come when I try to play it, it sounds more like Hector The Hernia?
🤣🤣🤣
Me too for sure

One of my most favorite tunes on the bagpipes. Your talents are seamlessand most heart-reaching. Thanks much! GaelicDrummer1
What an incredibly enchanting tune played so beautifully by you Hanneke. Its an honor. I shall endeavor to play this arrangement on C 256 tuned guitar. You inspire me to explore Scottish fiddle.

Thats beautiful, such a simple tune, like most on violin, but so dificult to play, and sound good.

Awesome. I love to play this on the low whistle, accompanying a fiddle player and guitarist.
So do I but it's difficult to keep the slow tempo displayed here.
Your violin is so warm it sounds like a viola!
This is a wonderful piece. Well done. I am enjoying your fiddle postings. Learning from your ideas. Nice work. Thanks much!

I hope she does a lesson on her song "Trip to Walden Pond". Such an amazing, delightful tune.
She did, Mark!
Beautiful lament for 'Fighting Mac', Major General Sir Hector Archibald MacDonald KCB DSO. Born at Rootfield near Dingwall, Ross-Shire, in the Scottish Highlands. Well played here, personally I play it in D.
Told by the king to shoot himself rather than face a court-martial for being gay.....
R.I.P GENERAL HECTOR MACDONALD !!!
our reels here in quebec have a colour but i like your personnel colours.xx
I think .-- no --- I am in love with you beautiful lady. I am so inspired. Hanneke Cassel. Thanks.
What kind of strings do you use ? The sound is clean, and mellow...
What is the make of Hanneke and Casey's violin and strings used?
Hanneke's violin is made by Bob Childs.
Does anyone know the song playing at the ending sequence?

👍👍👍🌹🌹💋🥂
What the music in intro? show the name please
There's no name...that's just an original bit of music composed specifically for the intro bumper. Cheers!
How do you get that wonderful sound from the violin? It appears that you are playing a acoustic violin and not an electric, is that correct? I love the warm sultry sound how do u do that???❤️😃🤷🏻♀️🎻
Also I noticed you have a jack attached to your violin is that a microphone? Are you playing into an amplifier?🥺❤️Is that giving it an electric violin sound?
@@lifewithjimmy4389 Hi, LwJ. The main audio is captured with some high-end recording mics out of camera frame. The on-board fiddle mic & jack you see are used to add some reverb. But mainly it's a studio recording capture. All the best!

Did anyone ever write lyrics to that tune? If not, I think it's time I did...lol. To nice a tune to not have lyrics. Metal Man is another tune which devoid of lyrics. But Hector definitely needs to be sung not just played.
Og jafnaldrar mínir
ee
That was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard....I learned this tune but being a beginner, it doesn't exactly sound like that when I play it...lol.
