- If you haven't played against the CPU AI on the Hardest difficulty, treat yourself & learn the meaning of true pain. 🤯 Arcade / Story playthrough with high-level ninja tech (especially in the 2nd half) with all story mode cutscenes intact and rendered in 60fps/1080p (PS4 Pro). I also edited out the 1st gen PS2-era load times for your viewing entertainment! ^o^ Hope SNK fixes those! lol. Don't even say it, that's what I call a badass ninja fade.
I played Samurai Shodown II ALOT on my computer back in the day, and one thing that always stuck with me compared to many other fighting games I've since spent a lot of time with is how slow, but in a good way, SS is compared to the others.
Because a normal Heavy Strike in SS does so much damage compared to the other games, but at a cost. The attacks have longer follow-through, so if you miss you'll have to pay a heavy price. Positioning and timing are important in all good fighting games, but they are ESSENTIAL in Samurai Shodown, and that's what I love about it. Unlike SC (another great weapon-based fighting game) you can't sidestep, so blocking and waiting becomes that much more important.
And by the looks of it, this game stays true to that formula.

That "Ïzuna Drop" with the dynamites is something else man.

Sorry about the Genjuro bout. He's hard as hell no matter WHAT the difficulty setting is. This game is SO gorgeous with a soundtrack to match. I like how Hanzo has something eloquent and profound to say after he bests an opponent. Thanks for the upload..
I used to play this awesome game back in 1994/95. Of course, in the arcade saloons.
Hanzo is really tough playing against the cpu. A lot of Hanzo's best tool like cross and mix up does not work on the cpu so you really have to play differently vs a human opponent.

After all, the CPU is the programmer's work. Of course they will program it hard to make us piss.
After the disappointingly easy Verse. I'm glad they're back to their SNK Boss roots with Shizuka.

Classic SNK boss syndrome! Still haven't beaten it, but great game. I got 2 out of the 4 DLC right, though! Kazuki and Basara! Hopefully Sogetsu next season. Great gameplay, BTW.
The Supers sure take a lot of damage, but I feel they're hard to land due to that. Ah, heck, the Supers in SamSho 2 were hard to land too.

I like the scene of Hanzo without his ninja battle gear and as a family man, dressin' normaly and chattin' with his wife Kaede and his sons Shinzo (the white dressed one) and Kanzo (the brown dressed one).

A combo system in Samurai Shodown? Aru you nuts?! The only quasi-combo (very very limited) was introduced in samsho4 and personally i wouldnt like it any other way. But where is KENKI!? That little bar under the health meter (samsho5, 5sp, samsho6)

I use 1.5 playback speed for watching the versus and it is show the aggressive move and much like a movies.

I love the emphasis on mind games and sword-fighting in this iteration.
I enjoy a good combo but Samurai Shodown isn't the place for Soul Calibur style combos.
