To be fair, unlike Ventus and Aqua, Terra's Dash is only useful for moving into or out of fights, not for dodging attacks. Photon Charge was really his only reliable way to deal damage with Terra outside of Counter-hammer, which as you can see, didn't provide much help most of the time because of the speed at which this guy attacks. Using Surges or Shotlocks are probably the only feasible ways you can win this fight as Terra, unless you yourself can find a way to win without using either.
This requires such precise timing. Like yeah this fight in general requires that, especially with Terra, but like dude this deals a whole lot more damage than freaking surges and kudos to you for finding a very good way to deal with this bs fight in a different way.

Man, I've fought him with Terra in Critical Mode for like hundreds of times and I couldn't beat him. I've beat him in Critical with Aqua & Ven with the Thunder Surge method and worked fine, due to their decent invincibility frame that was provided by their Cartwheel/Dodge Roll. But this... looks absolutely awesome! You beat him like a man I'd say. You've just inspired me to go for it! Thanks, man!! ;D
I'm glad to see some videos not make these fights boring. I'm all for cheap quick wins. But I would like some variety sometimes. Glad to know there's more than 1 way to beat a super boss.
You did an excellent job here, hopefully less people rely on Surge attacks to deal with him when making videos of this fight so that its actually fun to watch.
This strategy works on Armor of the Master too if you have Final Mix. If you try to do a full shotlock the harder bosses will either dodge (No Heart), block (Armor of the Master, Vanitas Remnant) or heal themselves (Young Xehanort).
I used type B controls (camera) to lock on easier, had it on 32-bit, and accelerated. No name is so pretty. It has Ultima Weapons stats switched. Thanks, you inspired me not to resort to exploits with the hardest character. I can be more notorious on Gamefaqs.

And the payoff is a Keyblade that doesn't even benefits Terra's playstyle... Something else BBS got wrong, keyblade designs... Once you get Chaos Ripper, that's really all until you get Royal Radiance which is interchangeable to Chaos Ripper.

Remember the inescapable whip grab Mysterious Figure does from the original Japanese & English PSP versions. Then the PSP Final Mix version came out and fixed that issue. The PS3, PS4,.... the terrible Switch port removed that.
I always get a little worried when I attempt to block MF's X-fire projectile. It works most of the time, but I've had it fail sometimes for no visible reason.

Level: 81 Keyblade: Sweetstack Stats: Strength=44+6=50 Magic-39+4=43 Defense-40 Hp=82 No resistences Finish Command: Explosion No D-Links Abilities: Treasure Magnet, Attack Haste (can't remember why), Magic Haste, Finish Boost, Reload Boost, Damage Syphon, Second Chance, Once More, and Scan. Cmd Deck: Cure x4, potion, Jump, Air slide, slide, payback fang, renewal block, counter hammer, and photon charge.
@fyrentenimar it does more damage but since tha move does continual damage for a couple of seconds like megaflare, he can use his renewal black and get back loads of hp
i managed to beat this with the other two at 50-60 ish level, all abilities in (only with surges (yeah i'm noob) and apparently Final Mix allows you to slide away (or barrier, in case of Aqua) before you touch MF. Ven is the strongest from the three, because "Stratosphere" deals a massive damage. Explosion only do a bit (half of it?) but it's good.

Only *real* Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep players would attempt to do this boss fight with these restrictions. Terra Level 1 Critical Mode No Commands No Second Chance No Once More And most importantly, NO DAMAGE.

Doesn't look like young xehanort, he doesn't look as thin as he did in KH 3D but it doesn't have the same stance as xemnas, I'm guessing this is another incarnation of xehanort from the future who comes back to defeat them because they fail in the future, but that's just a guess.

I see this strategy but whenever I use the lightning ray shot lock he just blocks it and regains health (like more than he had before), I had to use the surge technique to beat him with Ventus and Aqua but I still need to beat the lingering spirit with Terra to unlock this fight
Playing with Terra is really fun and somewhat challenging, he might be the slowest among the three but to make up for it he deals the most damage and have the highest defense, but still... I just can’t seem to use him properly I feel like this character can only be utilized best by Professional players.

I've actually escaped a 3rd doom attack once. The 4th one is guaranteed death, even with a turbo controller.

No, critical does not have an HP limit. I'm looking at my PSP right now and my critical mode Terra has 100 HP.

Stitch is automatic in the story after finishing Deep Space. Pete can be earned from the Command Board I believe, but I don't recall how.

@2leon101 Buy another Block Command Skill at the shop and merge your current mastered one with either Esuna or Curaga.
