Little confusing information, paulownia is known for it's lightweight and soft characteristics not for being strong material and is not recommended for construction, however it is good for interior finishes.
so far it is the most complete video about this tree. Good information. What I don't understand is how it goes from mega giant leaves to a tree full of flowers. So far there is no video showing the 100% flowered tree, as it is presented in each advertising image
Paulownia is so soft you can gouge it with your fingernail. Its way softer than even cottonwood. 430 on the Janka scale versus only 300. Softer than the softest cedar.
When the tree is roughly three or so years old, it will start sprouting flowers in may. They last about 2 to 3 weeks. They come out as the leaves come out, but the leaves go on until October or first frost. The giant leaves are from the baby trees because there is more growing energy flowing through the tree and it results in larger leaves. Once the tree becomes an adult, the leaves get smaller. Tulip poplars are the same way.
Good information totally ruined by a poor voiceover and crappy music soundtrack that overwhelms and detracts from the message. Can’t watch the whole thing, though the subject is of interest.
There is around 30 different hybrids. Only one is invasively. You have to be carefull here. Buy plants only with certificate! In Slovenia people plant shan tong.
there is 7 species of paulownia : tomentosa, élongata, catalpifolia ( probably hybrid x previous both ) in north china. fortunei, fargesi, kawakami, taiwaniana in south china. fortunei is more straight and vigorous than others. it is used for cross with other species. after that elongata clones ( lankao's paulownia ) where used firstly in north china plantations during 60ies, 70ies and 80ies years, now poeple uses tomentosa x fortunei hybrids ... more productive, more straight and more resistant than old elongata clones ... " shantong " is one of these cross, made by the center of weinan in shaanxi. "9501 " is one other of these crosses, made by another reachers center in beijing .
to say that " in vitro " plantlets grows faster than plants from roots or stumps is absolutlety wrong : the lonely difference is that first are mor expensive ... the fast of grow arise from genetic level , soil and managment, nothing else !
you must never plant trees by seeds : only by ctiings ... if you plant by seeds, at once, it will entail - 20% of yield ( or much moore ) if you want to buy the best paulownia's genetic in the worl , you can write to me : hervevincent0015@orange.fr
At what temperature does coal ignite? Isn't it good for burning too? The highest quality fuel combustion occurs at temperatures of 400 degrees Celsius and above.
Can't you do something about the LOUD, LOUD music, so one can hear what is spoken. I will not like the video and will not subscribe! I will not watch the whole video.
Loved the music, watched the video a second time to Shazam the tracks!
Cannot hear the words for the loud music, sad.
The heavy accent makes it difficult to understand with the volume of the music

Not possible to hear the narration. The voice becomes lower and lower and then the music comes in and ruins it altogether. Very frustrating.
Very good and informative video, thank you very much.

this is after all an advertisement, for a sustainable model for rapid bio mass growth plantations! Monoculture is susceptible to disease!! ?????

Paulownia is not good for burning and pellets. This tree ignites only at 420 degrees Celsius! Please don't lie to yourself ...
