Thank you, Spin Clean. We appreciate you! Remember what you have to do to enter into it guys! Contest giveaway ends: FEB 1, 2022 at 11:59 EST. What to do to enter: 1) Be a subcriber 2) Like the video 3) Have the right....word. I tried to open it for even NON VC creators. But to ALL of you. I see you. I appreciate you. Thank you. Toodaloo!
GRITTY: Good tip on washing the towels first. I currently have an anti static brush and a wet brush to clean my dishes. Thanks for setting this up this TITILLATING giveaway!
GRITTY I do my cleaning in batches of 8 records (that's all my wooden dish rack holder holds) I use a clamp disc to protect the center label (forgot the name sorry). Then wash in the kitchen sink. a 4 step process: 1. wet the record to wash off the biggest particles 2. using a paint edger, I gently scrub some shower gel with conditioner (important for static) along the grooves (I know it's just one groove but you get the idea) on both sides 3. rinse with the kitchen tap (ideally with warm water) 4. spray both side with distilled water Once done , I use a towel to remove most of the excess water, take the label protection disc off and lay the record on the dish rack to air dry for about 30 min With a bit of practice, for 8 records, it takes me about 20 minutes. on a side note, a Spin Clean can still be useful even if you upgrade to say an ultrasound cleaner as it is really recommended to do a rinse in distilled water, a Spin Clean is perfect for that too. So, you can keep using it for years and years. Thanks for the chance and Toodaloo
I'm always amazed at how big they got this thing. Kudos to Mark Mawhinney and the folks at Music to My Ear in Pittsburgh, keeping the hobby alive around here.
When I bring home a new/old record, before I put that *gritty* thing on my turntable, I 1) brush it down with the carbon fiber brush, 2) set it on a towel on my dining table and cover the surface with a cleaning solution, 3) brush/scrub the grooves, and 4) rinse it off with distilled water. I would love to have some mechanical help with that process! Spin Clean would be a step up.
I love ur nitty gritty craziness, been here from the beginnin" n u know y! the most informative vc channel for me point blank ty for reminding me of needing these bc i never clean
My Nitty GRITTY Dirt Band albums require a proper cleaning by this SPIN CLEAN KIT. Great tip on washing those microfibre cloths first but make sure as NOT to use fabric softeners or scented soap liquid. These added ingredients will add a layer of film onto your vinyl records that might not come off. Keep up the fabulous work and the best of health in the New Year. ☮️
Alright! Let's get down and GRITTY with it! I do clean them with a RCA clean 4 liquid. Would like to upgrade and treat my vinyl better. Stay well my sister guru!
GRITTY, I always clean and play my records because wet cleaning is the only way to go. I have no machine but I use wet brush along with anti static brush and also the anti static gun which really helps when it is time to play. So, I want to try this thing out and see if better and faster way.
GRITTY: I mainly hunt for records through garage sales and swap meets so I need to do A LOT of cleaning. So far tho I mainly just use a record brush, microfiber cloth and cleaning solution. I’ve thought about the spin clean especially for some of those bigger hauls!
I have to admit, I've never cleaned my records (mostly because I have so many sealed) but would love to start! Many of mine are getting quite GRITTY indeed. Thanks so much for all you do. I love your videos VG!
Gritty, I hate when my vinyl is gritty. All I've got is my little velvet brush and a dream, a dream of having a better way to clean my vinyl! Oh the dreams I'll be having tonight.
Hey VG, Happy New year to you. I have been using the Knosti Disco Anti Stat spin cleaner. Very efficient.comes with its own record drying rack, solution which is recycleable for multiple use and doesnt require rags for wiping and drying records. A proven, efficient & uncomplicated system. Cheers. 👍😎😉
I love my spin clean - works really well, just remember not to use the cleaner on super old records - the alcohol will make them brittle so only use distilled water on those! Gets all the Gritty bits!
No! I do not have a cleaner so unfortunately I have not been playing all these gritty gritty records in my collection!!!! Hope to very soon! Love your channel Ms Guru!!! ✌️
I just have one of those smaller cleaning kits so far so I'm hoping to snag this bad boy to make my records way less GRITTY - great giveaway, thanks a bunch :)
I generally use The Vinyl Vac to clean LP's, but I don't have a good way to clean my Gritty 45's. This would be perfect. Thanks for all you do in the VC. Take care...
Happy New Year, Vinyl Guru! I've been a subscriber for quite a while now and naturally, I hit LIKE whenever I watch your videos just like this one here. Whenever I want to rid my records of the "GRITTY," I take a soft moist sponge with some dishwashing soap and apply it gently around the record to loosen up any dirt, debris, fingerprints, hair, etc. and then I rinse off the record with cool (but not cold) tap water while drying off the record with a very gentle microfibre cloth and this method is particularly fast and useful for very dusty, dirty thrift store records. Yes, I know distilled water is better for cleaning records (and quite cheap actually), but at times, I just want a fast, efficient method to clean records and I've heard many great things about those Spin-Clean units too. Toodaloo! :)
Hello my sister yes I hit my spin clean for years and I love it because it makes you feel more engage with the process of cleaning your record rather than just putting it in a machine . Spin clean it’s the only way I clean my records . My love my sister ❤️
I just use water, dish soap and a little alcohol with a soft tooth brush. Then for my records I usually just use a dry brush or lint roller. Unrelatedly GRITTY is the best mascot.
GRITTY: I do clean my records with microfiber rags and solution and anti static brush. I definitely need something like that to do a better job. Thank you for doing this and I love the Dodgers shirt
I’m ashamed of myself, I’ve never cleaned any of my records. I know I should, particularly those dusty second-hand discs but I’ve been lazy. But in the words of Beats International, tech fly boss walk jam nitty gritty, you’re listening to the boys in the big bad city, and I hope a UK subscriber qualifies for this giveaway. If not I’ll probably cry!
As seen on Guru tv. Lol. Thanks for the walk through. All I have ever had is an anti static brush which wipes out all the gritty details. Actually my re rid store cleans things fir me on a vpi machine but fingers crossed on scoring thus spin clean. Next I need to upgrade my needle.
I wash used records that I occasionally buy dirty, and I clean newer records before spinning. I wouldn't mind to test a machine like that, at least for the dirt job :) Now listen to me, you gotta get right down to the really nitty gritty ha! Let the music sink down in to your soul and let the good times roll \m/
Have not ever had a record that was overly--GRITTY. Plenty that were Gritty. I've been using the spay and wipe method. Thinking this will help make my records less-gritty. And Happy New Year VG!
I use my sleeve mostly to clean up a gritty record, a microfiber cloth if it's real bad. There's so many ways I haven't tried to clean records, I'd like to give it a whirl but haven't gotten around to it yet
I don’t have a cleaning device I use the spray and microfiber cloth technique. I have been looking to upgrade to a Spin Clean. I need to get down to the Nitty Gritty and respect my wax 🎶🎶🎶 more properly
Gritty: when that first started collecting vinyl records I used to just use a makeup brush now I have an anti-static brush I heard about these vinyl cleaning machines and I always wanted one it's very magical to see vinyl records being nurtured and looked after like children cuz when I collect music and vinyl records that are very hard to get there like my children you definitely have to take care of them or they will act up and Skip constantly on your record player 👍👍👍👍
I feel you get the best sound out of a clean record, and it preserves your records in doing so - I use a Nitty Gritty but have heard good reviews on the Spin Clean. Happy cleaning.
I've been thinking on getting a Spin Clean since I got into vinyl and I always hold up on it. Thanks for reminding me why do I really need to get this amazing product! Rock On GRITTY! 🤘

Peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers...then mixed in sincere efforts to rinse the prints off gritty records.
This would beat the spray bottle/microfiber cloth combo I currently use! There’s nothing worse than playing a GRITTY record!
I clean with a brush mostly but would like to try a spin clean .Definitely want to upgrade .
Go for it! Enter in babe. You know what you have to do. Super simple.
Very nice presentation and contest giveaway! If I win, the FIRST LP I will clean is by nitty GRITTY dirt band!!! (get it? the "secret word?") Thanks and I have been subbed to your channel fo a long time now!!! 👍😎
What I've heard of his music before has been dark, gritty rap about Britain's seedy underbelly.
