I drove a few RModels back in the day an 84 300 hp with the fuel turned up Eaton Fuller 9 spd it pulled good for a 300 and an 86 RModel 300 with the 2 stick Mack transmission hauling logs and chips

I have one..350..9sp. Professional conversion from tractor to a dump grain body. Best running.. driving..power ratio truck ive ever been in. Wish I had one pulling a hopper. Built like a tank but has the juice.

I’ve driven a few R models. I like the visors on the gages. The newer Mack’s have rocker switches instead of the toggle switches, I always used the colored extenders. R models have always been the workhorses, not much on comfort, but reliable power.
