I had reotted zinia .the medium was soggy and was not drying .I didthe mistake of keeping in sun .now I am re re potting with sand n soil only.hope it survives .took help from your video .

My spider plant was so healthy and hail and suddenly it started rotting and dying....all the favourable factors were there .. limited watering, appropriate surrounding, perfect soil, the plant was not infected at all !!
But I am unable to know why it died.

Over watering is usually the only reason for rotting of plants. The soil must've been hard, not very well drained and couldve held water
But if you're saying that all the requirements were being met, maybe the plants died due to some pest
