First of all I want to thank you for your video lectures. But i would also like to ask for some help. I am trying to sketch a diagram of a journal bearing where the load is applied on the top of the shaft. I am specifically trying to describe the friction acting on the wheels' axles of a pinewood drag car' when the car is in motion. I've been drawing free body diagrams, but i don't think i fully understand how it would work.
    Thanks in advance

sir in this case is N also will be equal to R ????
because N=W for a circle is it correct???

the bearings do not rotate, the shaft rotates because the bearing is pressed in into the housing. if lubricated the shaft will never touch the bearing and thin film of oil will separate the two (only at high speeds though)
