New video comparing historic Toronto to present day. #general_knowledge #beach #canada #history #nostalgia #ontario #seniors #toronto #ttc #queenstreet #educational
Thank you for the video. It is both fascinating and a bit melancholy to see the changes. Don’t want to be an old man getting mad at clouds but it’s hard not to get big feelings about some of the transformation this city is going through.
Although I do subscribe and faithfully watch all your content, I always become teary eyed when I watch these videos. Thank you for the time and effort that you commit to your channel. God Bless you sir.
Noticed you took down #42. Took out all the modern day black and whites. And put back the colour photos. Guess I was alone in liking the B+Ws. Thanks for trying!
1:25 It is sort of appalling when you see the original human scale humble buildings and people, replaced by a brutal wall of concrete and glass. It really hits you what we have lost.
Toronto was a lovely city 60 years ago now it's a maze of concrete and glass. I couldn't live in it anymore and left 30 years ago. The eastern beaches was ok in the 80s when I was there but was losing it's comfortable feel.
There's some old pictures of Jane and Lambton and Jane and Alliance that I've found cause I live at Jane and Lambton (Bexley Crs) @@NeilB.Arnoldso there's a few pictures of the area. Good luck.
@@NeilB.Arnold sent. Forgot to mention that there's some pictures of the fire at Roselawn PS that I unfortunately deleted but you can find them in the Google search that I recommended.
The Weston Library on Weston road north of Lawrence allegedly has an extensive archive of old photos. The Toronto archives really didn't have much on Mt. Dennis as of a decade ago.
So sweet. My city and home.
Just plain AWSOME I love all the old pics!!!

Great shots of the east end where I grew up. Thanks!

Colour is back! 🙌
Good one, I believe the B&W to colour does work better.
It does!
I agree!
It’s always better the second time around

Nowadays you look in the rear view mirror and see newcomer immigrants having a gun fight or fleeing a hit and run eh !
How I miss Toronto the way it was now it’s nothing but a shit hole
Extremely progressive government???
