I am always so amazed at the beautiful stone work you have in Wales. I wonder if that is why my grandfather made so many stone arches when he built this house.
Neath Abbey is much, much bigger than i was expecting. Those slots/holes in the walls i think are built into the wall at regular intervals and their purpose is to support the wooden scaffolding during the building of the wall ?
Thanks for showing us around Neath Abbey, Imo. I have never been there before and love exploring places like that. I have visited Tintern Abbey and Llanthony Priory before and always on the lookout for interesting old buildings to explore. I'm planning to be back in South Wales to see my family this summer, so love getting some ideas for places to visit while I'm there.
I would think twice about putting that small fridge on top of the larger fridge as it will not have lots in it will tend to get a big ice block at the back and the fridge it’s self has a out let that let’s water over flow from it we got rid of ours because of that reason and we fill ours with drinks 🥰
Hi Imo, brilliant video, the COVID restrictions have lifted in Worcestershire but I still wear a mask in the shops, the meal looked nice made me a bit hungry 😁.
Neath Abbey looks absolutely massive and fascinating. I have to give myself Insulin twice a day, I didn't like injections at first, but after a while I don't worry about them any more. Take care. x
eek it must be nerve racking injecting the stuff... glad its done for a few weeks. Looks like a cool ruins... i always nearly fall down ruin stairs lol its amazing to think how old they are and that its stood the test of time even if now its only ruins. IB has joined the monastery! Some of it definitely looks like it could fall :D love the talking bench hehe
Awww lovely seeing you and IB down Neath Abbey. That’s five minutes from my house 😊 Most of it was cordoned off, but looks like they have removed it all or most of it now. I do sometimes take the dogs down there. Haven’t been for a while though but watching this has made want to pop down. May take the dogs on the weekend. Did you take a walk down by the canal? You can walk all the way into Neath one way and I think the other way would take you down as far as Port Tennent in swansea, via Skewen and Jersey Marine. It is a bit of a nuisance driving to the Abbey as once you pass under the bridge you can only go one way, and have to enter onto the dual carriageway to get back. Five minutes to drive down there and ten minutes to get back home. 😂
@@PlanetImo haha yep it’s especially a faff when there’s no clear signs to the dual carriageway if I remember rightly. I don’t think the road you were on leads anywhere accept some kind of works. Definitely have a wander down the canal though. 😊
Thumb up 5. Thank you for todays blog. Most enjoyable to watch. Do you have names for the coffee 0:30 pots? At 3:50 you was so so happy when you seen the Abbey. Is IB playing hide'n'seek with you 6:47 like when in supermarkets? Tesco meals are delightful and great prices, MMmm mushrooms 16:35.
Norway is "Back to before covid" and "everyone" is getting it now, and not dying, but not being able to go to work, so then the once left at work at thinned out very much. I for me am still wearing a mask, I dont mind the initial sickness, just scared to get "long covid" since I have heard for a few friends that might have something.
Hi 👋 I love watching your videos 👍 I always give a thumbs up , I don't always comment but I felt the need to ask , did you look up all side effects and research everything about Dupixent before using it on your daughter . I hope you don't mind me asking, I'm a mother and grandmother 👍😊
Thanks. Yes, I did sit down one afternoon and go through the whole lot with a fine toothed comb. It’s allowing her to have quality of life that she couldn’t otherwise have. Thanks so much for watching. X
@@PlanetImo Thank you for getting back to me , you put my mind at rest 🙏I have heard that changing a diet can also help many issues regarding your daughter's health conditions. Take care bye for now, looking forward to your next video 👋 x
I’m not sure I could give an injection. It was awful giving my son meds in his IV and I was a nervous wreck each time. I guess you do what you have to do huh?
I had a feeling someone out there would be able to relate. Yup - you just gotta do what you gotta do. I worry I'll scratch her with the needle too. So far we haven't had any mishaps. Thanks! x
I can speak a bit, that I learned from studying it as a second language as an adult. Izzy used to be semi fluent but seems to have forgotten most of it - but she says she can still understand spoken Welsh but has got so rusty at forming her own sentences that she shies away from it now. I think if she wanted to brush it up, she'd have it in no time. IB does not speak Welsh. Thanks, Linn. x
Those holes were for Monks to put their mobile phones through to get a signal... 😂.. No.. Seriously, they are pigeon holes.. Happy International Woman's day Imo x
Oooh pigeon holes? Really? He did say off camera that they reminded him of the holes in the dove cote we saw recently in Llantwit Major. Thanks, Sparky!
Fascinating! I'm imagining what Neath Abbey must have looked like when it was still whole
That old Abbey was way cool. And the train engine, I so wanted to paste a face on the front so it could be in the useful crew of Thomas and Friends.
I am always so amazed at the beautiful stone work you have in Wales. I wonder if that is why my grandfather made so many stone arches when he built this house.
That's a lot of layers you're wearing. Abbey looks lovely, textural.
Yes! Textural! That’s the word I was looking for! Thanks, Andrea. X
What an awesome place to visit! So cool!!
Aw thank you! I bet you would have enjoyed having a good old mooch around there. :)
I imagine there was a vaulted ceiling and those middle bits were support pillars
Very nice vlog today. I love the history and appreciate that these structures still exist. IB is handy to have around!
Thanks David - I'm glad you enjoyed a look around. :)
Hi I'm No very nice visit to the castle and the breakfast looks great!
Oh adventures ahead! I do love a good ruin.
Me too!
Happy international women's day Pip :D
Full appreciation for hinge delight and cow hat 👌👍
😆 thank you 😊

I get a great deal of texts but almost no phone calls. What a good place to investigate.

Oh no! I was looking forward to seeing the train museum :(
It was a colliery museum on this occasion. I fancy the bus museum!
Great video enjoyed watching always stay connected.
have a good day 🍹

Thanks for the heads up - I'll check the manual for the outlet position and keep a close eye on it. x
