I was at my local reptile expo last weekend, I will agree... 1. Seemed like other 3rd table was Cresties, everyone was selling them. 2. I saw palmetto for 200 and up, just a few years ago, they were 5-600 minimum. 3. The BP morphs have tanked for a bit, I noticed a few mutligene pieds for under 300. I think in general, most prices have or are going to drop, economy, market saturation, etc.
I completely agree! I do think the economy is the biggest factor! Agreed 100% though I have seen the same at my local expos! Thank you very much for the comment:)
Yeah, you're probably right on all these animals selling for less. My girl Sasha is a butter/enchi, but being my 1st snake she is still my favorite lol I would love to have a Burmese, but I have a male and female retic already, and I don't have the money to have an addition added to the house right now lol Maybe I'll knock out a wall and put a display enclosure, who knows!! lol
Haha could be a big fun project! Thank you for commenting :) I love this! I still have my first ball python almost 15 years later! It always starts with just one haha
Burms sell well but I'd have to say reticulated pythons have dropped in value by a ton and are so overproduced that obtaining what used to be a high value retic are now easier to buy in the market.
I 100% agree with you! They produce massive clutch’s and I think that fact makes them able to saturate the market with babies of specific genes very quickly Thank you for commenting!
nice video! As a snake pet keeper, you sounded like these were bad news, but I was cheering! Can't wait to have these super conda hogs into my prices range haha! Also maybe it's my headphones settings, but the background music (though very nice) was a bit invasive at times... Maybe something to adjust a bit? Subbed anyways!
Haha I agree, certainly be much more affordable soon! Thank you! I will certainly keep that in mind. I listened to the video with my headphones and I can hear what you are talking about! Thank you!
Low gene balls have already tanked in the market. A regular pied is worth maybe $100 now. And single genes like pastel and yellow belly, many breeders are wholesaling for cheap. As for normal ball pythons, they get the short end of the stick, as many breeders don't even invest on getting them eating. They just wholesale them to people with cobras. Same goes for normal corns. And yes, hogs were supposed to be the next ball python with all the genes and morph combos being made a few short years ago. But that just spiked the demand. We were going to invest in western hogs, and as soon as we got our 1st groups, realized the market had already reached its peak and was going to plummet. So we decided to go in a different direction. Also interested to see how the burm market does this year. As we have just added the pied project to our facility. As an honorable mention, I'd add MBK's and Cal Kings. MBK's were well over $400 when I first got in the hobby. Now you can get a baby for under $200 on MorphMarket, and probably $100 at shows. Same with Cal Kings. The different color and pattern morphs spiked interest in them and now many people are breeding them, sending the value back down.
Thank you for this amazing comment! I agree with you 100% on MBK and California kings. When I got my MBK years ago, she was almost $900 and now I see them so so cheap. Being ahead of the market is tough, you never know what will take off in popularity next. New genes being found helps peak interest. Sometimes I feel the best option is to chase what you are most interested in and follow that.
@coldbloodedfreaks1217 Facts. On some things we're working only with genes we really like, and slowly phasing out of the rest. Others we decided to focus more on pure localities with no influence of mutations. And then some stuff we decided is worth the money and headache of doing the paperwork to get permits to have protected species. Such as pure Lousiana Pinesnakes, and Jamaican boas.
Just subscribed, awesome channel! 🎉

Wow that hognose is beautiful. I bet it looks amazing after it sheds. We just subscribed to your channel.
Oh she is stunning! And she’s getting brighter as she grows:)
Thank you! Very much appreciated:)
@coldbloodedfreaks1217 Is she an Albino Conda?
She is a purple line extreme red albino conda het sable. Unfortunately she is in shed

Putting my pet keeper hat on I hope prices are going down especially in regard to hognoses which are way overpriced despite them being so available.
I completely agree! I’m thinking the is the year they really start to drop in price:)

He could be a Het Tremper or a mack snow
He could be, he’s just getting up there in age! He’s almost 20 years old :)
Super giant leopard gecko
That was what I was leaning towards! Thank you for commenting! He’s an old man now but i would like to get another one just like him one day.
@coldbloodedfreaks1217 they definitely get pretty big and have nice disposition like yours in the video.
