  • Finally adding your wishlist houseplant into your home is the best feeling I know, but I promise you waiting an extra week won’t take away from the joy - and it may save your entire indoor plant collection!
By following this five-step routine-removing damaged leaves, thorough pest inspection, rinsing, a neem oil treatment, and a quarantine makes all the difference!
"Let's go through the steps I take to add a new house plant to my collection these tips will give your new plant a glow up and ensure the rest of your house plants are safe firstly I grab my secateurs and have a look at the leaves on the plant I remove any that are damaged or wilted or just look a bit dodgy see here inside this philodendron pink princess stem there's a little tiny bit of webbing this is often a sign of spites wash the back and the front of each Leaf this is to clean off any pesticides that are lingering on the Leaves last any potential pests away and of course get rid of that slight webbing after her little spa it is time for neem oil neem oil is a great organic product which can be used as a pest deterrent and also as a leaf shine again go in for the front and the back of each Leaf as well as the stem once you've given it a good spray down I wipe off with a microfiber cloth once you've treated your plant I like to keep it separate from the rest of my plants for at least a week this is so I can make sure no pests pop up as well as other issues such as fungus"

Wow thank you so much for sharing! Is the Neem oil okay for all plants? And do you water it down or spray it on pure. Brand new plant parent here 😊

Hello, and welcome! Neem oil is fine on plants with harder leaves - no fluffy begonia! It needs to be diluted, I have the longer video here where it is explained th-cam.com/video/T9eTaHKZQt8/w-d-xo.html

I wonder, how long does it take to grow Pink Princess so big?

I have had this one about a year, it has about doubled in that time.

Love the video...but I'm confused as to why so many people show videos on how to get rid of pest on their plants....my mind is blown because if you are having pest issues why are you touching your hair with the same hands you just used to touch the plant with pest...why not just pull your hair back or up out of your way so you don't have to touch your hair...

Thanks for the love. I am not worried because plant pests don't transfer to humans, or pets, or furniture etc. They are just interested in plants!

@@passthatplant thanks for replying...you taught me something I did not know... nobody ever talks about the pest getting on the person dealing with them so I never inquired....I'm glad I wrote a comment and I'm happy you replied...see you in the next one😀
