    I love how everone was hating on the 64gb steam deck and now love it because it is so much cheaper to upgrade yourself. I bought my 2230 ssd the day i pre ordered for $25....i wish the 64gb was true emmc memory so we could add more storage. But still good they made it easy to replace and upgrade. If they hadnt sold so many high end models they could of shot themselves in the foot with the easy of ability to upgrade the steam deck.

    • @Spencerwalker21
      @Spencerwalker21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I'm getting the 64gb and just getting a 512gb SanDisk extreme. From everything I've read performance is the same between SSD and micro SD. I'm going to play elden ring do you think the open world will perform fine on SD card idc about instal or load times.

    • @chrish5479
      @chrish5479 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Spencerwalker21 i dont think you would notice performance drop much coming from the micro sd instead of internal storage. Valve has done good work it seems to incorporate micro sd into the system without performance hit. Mostly just load times maybe but who really cares about that when u are saying yourself 100's of $ doing to upgrade yourself. I was only able to get a 128gb at the time i purchased but got it for $25 CAD...which is still super cheap compared to the 128gb model.

      It's the first of its kind by valve, they are bound to make mistakes with it, i myself can't went for steam deck 2 where they will iron out all the physical and hardware flaws they have come across through feedback and see what steamOS will shape up to be by then once it has been polished to near perfection.

    • @vovical
      @vovical 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This is not true. An A1 sandisk ultra vs an A2 extreme for example will make no load time difference.

    • @Vyp3Rau
      @Vyp3Rau 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bland9876 No there is an 'A' speed class for SD cards too. The A is ment to signify application read and write speeds. It needs a minimum 30 MB/s bus speed which is what 'U3' denotes, so you will see it combined with that on the card. So 'U3 A1' or 'U3 A2'.
      'A1' must meet or exceed 1500 IOPS random reads and 500 IOPS random writes.
      'A2' must meet or exceed 4000 IOPS random reads and 2000 IOPS random writes.

I've just seen a video where a a person had the 64GB model and when he took out the emmc storage it showed B&M key as it had two notches instead of one so that means you can either have what everyone else has all you can if you did mistakenly by the more with too much as you can still use it it I don't really know what the difference actually is maybe there would be like less than clear for something but it's still available to lose use and that's great instead of me shelling out another hundred quid on something I've already bought what just to end up getting my steam deck and realising that it was a mistake that I didn't need to flush out more money

    For me the Steam Deck is the Game Gear of this era. Since everyone likes to compare and bash the Switch cause of the Steam Deck. The Game Gear was way more powerful than the original Gameboy back in the day... Heck even the Atari Lynx was more powerful. Yet the Gameboy was the go to.... I feel the Deck is the device for the "cool kids", like the Game Gear back in the day. Yet most everyday Joe had the Gameboy.

      Valve is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Valve is quoted on TH-cam on their steam deck videos as saying this for the steam deck: "It's your PC, you have every right to open it up and do what you want". The warranty does in fact cover this, you read it on the steam support page on their FAQ on their hardware sold. Opening it yourself is covered under the warranty, but if you do break something while you're inside the deck, that falls under "improperly maintained" under their warranty exclusions again on their "Valve Hardware Warranty" page. Unless you have a quote from a valve official saying otherwise, you are wrong, like hard wrong
