  • This is a very commonly asked question that if the students who are planning to come in the Spring semester are at any disadvantage when it comes to H1B filling. Are they going to lose one attempt if they graduate in December? In this video, we will look at what is the norm in the USA when it comes to filling H1B by employers and also what a student can do if they don't feel comfortable in graduating in December.

    If the graduation is delayed, will the 3 chances for applying for H1B be intact or will we end up losing an attempt?

    Hey! Great video I just had a question.
    When we delay our spring graduation to say April. Won't that delay period of 4 month be reduced from the OPT extension period? Like 5 years - 4 months?

      @FellowBrownie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, if you're still in school then it won't. If you get on OPT then you'll have to do some kind of work, it can be working for a company in your field or doing some research work with a professor on campus. Graduating a semester late or earlier will need planning in advance, for e.g. you can plan to take or drop courses in summer or take an additional course in a major semester than the required number. Hope it helps!

    Hey Mayank! In spring vs fall video you said internships/ co-ops are available for spring folks and in defer fall 2020 video u said no co-ops for spring folks. Its kinda ambiguous here, can u please clarify???

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man! Winter internships and co-op are definitely available, even I did a winter co-op starting from January. Can you please point out which Fall 20 video are you talking about?

    • @abhishekpalkar52
      @abhishekpalkar52 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fellow Brownie the one when u told us about whether we should defer or not, U said it clearly that no internships and coops

    • @abhishekpalkar52
      @abhishekpalkar52 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fellow Brownie i also heard that most universities don’t even offer coops for spring students☹️

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abhishekpalkar52 Yea but that's fine, you can wait one semester and go on co-op in summers, you'll still save 4 months in case you defer to fall only for this reason.

    • @abhishekpalkar52
      @abhishekpalkar52 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fellow Brownie so bottom line, spring students get co-op , right? after 3 semesters

    hey Mayank thanks for making this video. But still one question remains unanswered about the courses offered in spring semester. Since there are very few courses which are offered in spring.

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey man! I think I addressed that one in the other Spring Vs Fall video. The gist is that if your university is doing admissions in Spring then they take care of course offerings, they are not going to block you by not offering pre-requisite courses. Spring is a major semester like Fall so it's not true that an equal number of courses are not offered in Spring. The courses offered in Spring, may not be offered in Fall, and vice versa, universities try to rotate courses in every semester. Hope it helps!
