Lord Zedd was the most badass villain in the Power Rangers franchise. Just imagine how evil he could have been if parents didn't complain and have him toned down to be more comedic.

Honestly, the fact that his scariness had to be toned down was a blessing in disguise and actually ironically made him scarier. All the parents complained about was that he was too scary. Didn't say he couldnt actually start kicking the Rangers' asses and forcing them on the defense for an entire season until he outright beat them. Gotta love malicious compliance on writers' part.

I remember when The Mutiny aired and when I saw Zedd my first thought was "THIS GUY IS SO COOL", it was fun to have a genuinely threatening and dangerous villain.
This theme reminds me of The Omen. When I was a kid I got chills of Lord Zedd's awesome presence. The serpent turns into a Z-rod. Powerful theme. All hail the almighty Emperor Lord Zedd

He was the most brilliant tactician of the United Alliance of Evil villains. He kept trying to break up the Rangers teamwork or even make his own evil warriors to match them. Almost all his plans involved halfing the team and attacking them; with less Rangers, his success was better. Brainwashing spells, curses to confuse, even altering reality. Everything he did was to undermine the Rangers, rather then go the way of caveman bludgeoning Rita did.
Zedd had such potential when he first appeared. He could have been the Darth Vader or Doctor Doom of Power Rangers. Instead they turned him into Skeletor.
Mitchthe1soul venjix is pretty close, considering at the the start of rpm he’s basically won with humanity nearly extinct and his forces having overrun the earth, and also surviving his defeat and being the secret main villain of a later season
Easily one of the greatest Villains ever just sucks all the damn soccer moms thought he was too Evil for children and they toned him down to a more comedic character. This dude made season 2 of MMPR my favorites. Hopefully if they do a sequel of the Reboot he's the main Villain since the rumors are that Rita is looking for the Zeo Crystal for Lord Zedd.

He had to be toned down as moms complained he's to evil which speaks volumes. With a snake that altered to his staff I wonder if that is saying he's meant to be the Devil. You never see his face under the visor that makes him all the more terrifying.
He was the ultimate bad guy... Before they turned him into a joke when Zeo came around... Then he just got bottom tier... And that pissed me off... Zedd will ALWAYS be my favorite Power Rangers Villain.

Zedd is one of the reasons that I would love to voice a Power Rangers villain, even if it was simply a random monster. I've found a lot of actors recur as those random monsters over the years (and some of them have even been in franchises like The Lord of the Rings).
Lord Zedd was a true badass. His character was too nightmarish and he had to be rewritten, lol. By far I think Lord Zedd was the best Power Ranger villain.

joe07385 The Alien Tyrant, The Embodiment of Pure Evil, The Juggernaut Nefarious Alien. He is a terrific boss in MMPR the movie video game for Sega Genesis. I love that Goldar becomes a suckup, and is spineless sniveling person of in front Of Lord Zedd. Everything shown with his debut is Outstanding including the way he is shown in Space, teleportation with explosion and snake transmutes into his Staff.

Zedd is one of the reasons that I would love to voice a Power Rangers villain, even if it was simply a random monster. I've found a lot of actors recur as those random monsters over the years (and some of them have even been in franchises like The Lord of the Rings).
