Definitely gained a new appreciation for compression.

I'm genuinely curious, what do you like about the 1073? I myself am an SSL guy and I could go on forever about why that is my preference, but Neve-centered workflows intrigue me. Whenever I try it, it just feels to me like I can't dig deep enough, if that makes any sense

It’s really just harmonics it introduces more than anything, I also like the curves on the EQ a lot though sometimes it doesn’t do everything I need it to like you mentioned. Recently though people have been sending me really solid recordings so I guess I haven’t felt the need to use it to as much of an extent as I have in the past.

have you tried mixing into god particle rather than add it in last? i've heard it's more efficient that way. curious on your thoughts.

also what is the 'HEAT' you're referring to near the end there?

Yeah but I don’t like basing my decisions on it bc sometimes it doesn’t get used at all. Recently I’ve started using it less bc it’s only good for specific genres. Absolutely terrible on acoustic and more mellow genres.

Protools has a feature called HEAT that is basically AVID’s version of analog summing in the box. Sounds great

@junovue no problem. On pop and hip hop it sounds great almost every time but if it’s a relax genre that’s not supposed to be as up in your face/needs to breathe more then it’s not the best choice
