Greatly appreciate your videos in these times of 24/7 pandemic coverage by the media. It is refreshing to see something like this for a change. Hope you are staying safe!
One of the many things I love about 'Out of the Woods' is the soundtrack. It shows a broad knowledge of music from across the genres and always matches the music to the wood with the sophistication that a true gourmand would match the wine to the food.
Seeing the way you admire and treat what goes through your sawmill is uplifting. The slabs that tree yielded, with your care and skill, were beyond spectacular. Thank you for sharing.
Just found you this morning. This log is just too magnificent for words. But I agree with Chris Freemesser, and yet too many maybe for Chris to handle? I'll take 3 or 4! Kidding aside, you put a long overdue smile on this lady's face and a new fascination in her heart. Your talent and blessings are a gift. Thank you for sharing.j
Beauty. Out here the other day someone cut up a 40 foot by 48inch Douglas fir log the other day for firewood. Broke my heart. I love watching you finding the beauty in the wood.
Nicole was happily surprised by Momma Cat's sudden appearance at the end. She figured with the music and the sunset vista that it was all over. She should know by now that cats always have their own plan.
I just need a little to build my dream guitar. Absolutely stunning. I never get tired of your videos. Hopefully you know how you make us who follow your channel feel. And yes, I'll send pictures of the guitar after I'm done. Just a couple feet. Lol.
Wouldn't any walnut used for a guitar have to season for a large number of years? I remember watching a video, I think from the old Martin factory and IIRC, some of their wood was 10+ years old. Spruce, I believe.
I use to see antique furniture made from lumber like this and it was always amazing to find them. One piece boards so wide you did not need joinery for table tops. Just amazing and so rare today. That was one heck of a log and a long time in the making. Thank you Nathan for showing us this one.
Simply Magnificent Nathan, they are gorgeous slabs. What a beautiful piece wood. You are going to have some very happy customers buying those slabs. Certainly concur, it’s the best slabs you have had on the mill. Lovely video, thank you. Take care dear friend. Graham 🇬🇧🇬🇧
The pattern is Mesmerizing.... Meeeeee.....Meeeeee........................... I wake in minute!!!! Great Log!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #"Have Happy Virus Free Day!!!"
Beautiful and nicely done. That size is rare and can be worked into stunning things with the right design. Thanks for sharing this awesome moment. Something you won’t forget in time.
Fabulous log & slabs to say the least. Nathan: I want to thank you for showing us some semblance of normal life. With that said: Please take the necessary precautions to protect you & your family first & foremost! Bless you & everyone watching these video's!!
Beautiful wood, and to be honest one of the most relaxing things in my day. I have worked on a woodmizer a good bit and enjoy doing the work, every video makes me want to go ahead and buy me one and get back out there.
Nathan, the last 2 with the white edges were spectacular. Always look forward to your videos. They relax me like good music. My stress levels are rocketing up and down dealing with prepping for the lockdowns etc.. Your video calmed my asthma. When it was over I was relaxed.
I couldn't agree more with the title of this video!! I can't recall seeing Black Walnut like this since I was a teenager in 1970 or '71!! Any one of those last three wide slabs in the video I could do some amazing things with!!! Beautiful Nathan!!!
Your videos do much more then entertain ,they are inspiring and calming and this old dog has learned some new tricks . Thanks Nathan from way out west.
Do you have a photo album or anything of some of the furniture or projects that your customers make from your wood? I'd love to see what some of this beautiful walnut becomes.
Really enjoy seeing the variety of wood coming out of the beautiful area you live in. Would love to have as much here in New Mexico. These slabs were as pretty as any I've seen you cut. Stay healthy and keep doing what you do.
Those are some mighty beautiful slabs. Even with the heavy sap wood on them they're still fantastic. Those would make some perfect chairs and table for the pickin and grinnin room.
I needed a good video to watch to break up the madness of nothing on tv but Chinese coronavirus! This amazing walnut log reminds me why walnut is my favorite wood! Thank You for sharing it with us!
Sure would like to see what someone made with one of those beautiful slabs. As I was watching you scrape & pour water of them, I was imagining myself making a live edge dining room table with one. The one with the dark black swirl in it was the best!
Nathan, thank you for showing us this video. That log produced some beautiful boards. Your skills as a Sawyer came through. May you have a blessed week. I watched the last video Bruno was in, he's getting big.
I knew this was going to be a good log! You teased us with this log a couple three videos ago. What a specimen! I owe a lot of my knowledge to your videos. Modern day book smart. Can't thank you enough for the inspiring thoughts.
What a beautiful tree! So glad you got to do it justice with your mill and this fine production which enables all of us to appreciate life's hidden treasures. Thanks Nathan!

Mother Nature does some beautiful work
Gets better the deeper you go in the log
the blending of the sapwood and the heartwood is just beautiful.
It's cuts like this that have you playing with your mill.
Verses WORKING with your mill.
Some real fine wood....
Nathan, great video sharing like this remind us how fortunate we woodworkers are to be both human and Being, simultaneously. 🙏
Well said!
Maxed out the Sawmill,, no nails, no checking, very little sapwood, and of corse momma cat hanging out with you, great day at the Sawmill

Really enjoying the new camera mounts and shot angles. They’re allowing you to take your videos to a whole new level.
Beautiful! ...and no, I wasn't crying. Something got in my eye.
