What a great video. Andy and Don Knotts knew from their own lives what small town life was like, and it helped make the program so genuinely authentic. BTW, Andy Griffith was born the very same day as Marilyn Monroe---June 1, 1926.
When you showed Goober's outfit, the first thing that came to my mind was Goober's bad impersonation of Cary Grant..."Judy, Judy, Judy." It totally cracked me up to hear you whisper the same thing a second later!
W O W!! This was a wonderful step back in time! One really feels like you are in Mayberry! Beautiful town and greenery all around. Great to see so many of the characters and items preserved!! I did notice very minimal merchandise and memorabilia kept on “Opie”~ Ron Howard. Perhaps because he is still alive? Always just a joy to experience your hard work, research and your presentation. The vlogging is detailed, clear and interesting to learn so much the way you do it. Looking forward to more Mayberry ~ Mt Airy episodes to complete the story!!!
I worked at a high end jewelry store for a few years and one day an attractive older lady came in and asked if I could clean her ring for her. I said, of course, and she handed me a beautiful sapphire ring. It was gorgeous and very unique and, during the course of our conversation, she told me that she had gotten it as a gift many years before from a guest who stayed in her small, NC seaside boarding house. Who gave it to her? Andy Griffith!
The excitement continues. I have butterflies watching these. Its amazing how something from the past brought to the present makes you feel and appreciate the experience that Is a part of your life. This Is like finding a time capsule and opening It up and living the memory. Its fantastic
Love the Andy Griffith Museum. Glad they have all those things from the show. Nice to see that they included a little bit from Matlock. The Andy Griffith show has always been one of our top favorite show to watch. It has a special place in my heart. Thank you Jordan. God bless you
Thanks again Jordan, you did an awesome job, like the museum it neat to see that they keep all things that was part of the show. The Andy Griffith show. Thanks again. 📺📹
Hi Jordan, it really makes me happy to see all these original props and costumes saved and on show. I have smiled from start to finish on this vlog. Great vlog Jordan.
These last 2 vlogs have been such a treat. Just love and admire Andy Griffith and of course his buddy Don Knotts. When I see that phone I think of Barney when he would call Juanita lol.
That's so cool!! I didn't know any of the furniture, props and costumes were still around. Such a beloved show. How awesome for you to be able to see it all! Thank you for taking us along!
Thanks for the wonderful museum tour of the props used on the Andy Griffith Show, Jordan. So many fond memories and the statues of Andy and Opie, beautifully made. ❤🙏🌟🌹💎
When I saw “A Face in the Crowd” years , I was conflicted. It was a great movie and Andy was superb, but I had to forget he didn’t just play Andy Griffith Show. I remember when he died and I overheard a couple of coworkers arguing. The supervisor comes over rolling his eyes saying, “These people don’t believe Andy Griffith from the show was also Matlock!” lol 😂
Lol, I just watched it recently. I had recorded it from TCM. I felt the same way when his character turns ugly. In fact, I actually had to rewatch it a couple of days later because I was distracted the first time. Really powerful performance, and story. Andy Griffith sure was an American talent! ❤️✌️
This was an awesome video of the Mayberry Museum I love all the props and everything, I hope you enjoyed yourself at the museum because I enjoyed myself, thanks again for another great video.
This really is a legendary show and one of the best ever made. I have always been amazed at who did what after the show and also the spin offs like Gomer Pyle for instance. I love all the memorabilia they have of other projects of Andy. I thought it would just be stuff from the show.
Excellent video Jordan. Thanks for posting it. It was pretty cool that you showed and mentioned the Weird Wally doll from Matlock. Not long ago, I offered it to the museum as a donation and the very nice folks there graciously accepted and displayed it. Thanks again.
It was a great iconic show, Andy was so personable and well loved you just couldn't wait to sit down as a family and watch! He and Barney made you feel like second cousins always warm and loving to all his viewers. This cast of loveable characters lived an idealistic lifestyle that many longed for in the industrial age. Thanks Jordan 🇯🇴 for taken us with you!
I loved Andy Griffith. He always seemed like a nice guy. Thanks for being me with you. Loved seeing all the props used. Keep on being you! Kisses to Jah! 🦴🐾❤️
I didn't know there was an Andy Griffith museum! But, of course there is. Thanks for taking us! Definitely one of the best shows ever. Thank you, Jordan ❤️🔥
This was awesome. Glad to see so many things of Andy's are on display. I can't wait until you get to stay in Andy's house and we can see inside. Thanks a lot Jordan for doing this for us. I know I would never have been able to see it. Take care.
Mr. Griffith almost had a tv comeback with Salvage 1 on ABC. It was a science fiction fantasy program. Issac Asimov was the technical adviser. 20 episodes were made plus a 2-hour pilot movie. The movie dealt with Mr. Griffith's character (a Salvage Yard Operator) getting the idea to build a rocket from parts he was hired to cart away from the Air Force. He and his staff built or refurbished all the equipment needed for the mission from the materials on hand at the Salvage Yard. Once he built the rocket he and his assistances flew it to the moon to SALVAGE Items left behind from the Apolo missions. ABC scheduled Salvage 1 against WKRP in Cinncinatti and Little House on the Prarie which is why only 20 episodes were produced. Someone uploaded all episodes to Dailymotion.
So happy you got to see all of this!! :D Andy's dad made an appearance on one episode co.ing out of the store in The Farmer Takes a Wife I believe? Where Alan Hale, Jr./ Jeff Pruitt comes to town looking for a wife but, sets his sights on Thelma Lou who unfortunately passed away recently after living in Mt. Airy for a number of years. I love going up there but, never got to go to Mayberry Days, even though it's always around my birthday in September lol. Did you ever see the Matlock episode "The Lemon" where Don Knotts buys a DeLorean? Classic. Btw, the Matlock steps in Wilmington where he comes down in the intro lead straight into the water. :D Love these!!!
" The Three Stooges Houses of Curly & Moe " love it Jordon! Lights, Camera, Action!! You turned off the comments, but that was a great video! You made me LAUGH!! Who needs a comb? Hair - perfect - just up! List of what a total bachelor does for the day: List - Put on my Pants - Button my Pants - My Coffee - etc etc! What a great video! All a bachelor needs (yes, I know about Amy) back then is a Dog, a Job, A Cup of Coffee, a Bachelor pad (decorated like you are still in college) - Niffty Tee Shirts - I am only joking. You should see that video again!! It's so funny!
Thank's so very much Jordan for the amazing view & it's always a tremendous experience with your efforts & time to make this quality content! Appreciate you Jordan n our lil Pal Jah! Ty Luv&peace! Cheers! from us all Sean&Family...🍻👏
I loved this one Jordan!! This was such a fun show to watch. it was fun seeing the costumes they would wear on the show. Cant wait for the next part!! It was a good vlog Jordan, might good vlog! thAnk you!
Damn! Just missed the live stream. Jordon, I absolutely loved this show. I still watch it. This episode marry's well with the initial Andy Griffith vlog. Thank you again & kind regards from Adelaide South Australia. Thankyou so mu
I'm glad they showed a little of the Matlock stuff there! If I were visiting the museum, I would buy the "Nip it in the bud" t-shirt which is my favorite Barney Fife line!
All of these great people live on in TV reruns like they never left us. Seeing the props from the shows as museum pieces puts time into perspective. It was over a half a century that had past. It was a long time ago, but not really that long ago. So much has changed since The Andy Griffith Show aired! Great vlog!
You can never go Home, but you can always go to Mt. Airy. Totally enjoyed the Museum. Thanks for virtually sharing in detail. Our favorite is the Squad car tours of town. Would Love to stay in the Andy Griffith boyhood home sometime.
Makes me want watch the show again, It's been so long. I remember when I was young and first watching, I thought it was a real place & wanted to live there. How neat to see the statue in the front, the faces were so life like. Looking forward to your next trip back! Thanks, Jordan! 🌼
I got to hang with Andy in Menlo Park where I worked in Earth Sign Health Food Store. In 1975-76. His wife was at Stanford Hospital for Cancer. He came in to buy health foods for his wife. There was a torrential storm...which forced him to stay longer. We talked about health, vegetarianism, etc. I was a big fan...still am.
I love that time period Mr. Lion. In fact, you even semi-model the typical demeanor of that time frame as well, in my opinion. You just seem to have the innocent aura and proper etiquette of those simpler times, once upon a time. I respect you brother and your work. Keep up the positive vibes and please be sure to give Jah dawg another day on the town for me as well if you'd be so kind. Kudos bro.
When my mom worked at Universal Studios in the 1960's, one time while being there with her, she said , "you can go open that black file cabinet and pick out autographed pictures of actors you like". I was about age 10. I picked a signed autograph of Andy Griffith, and the Adam-12 stars "Malloy & Reed". Unfortunately they are long gone! I still have pics of my mom kissing a life-size cardboard cut out of Adam 12's "Malloy". I like making copies of that and giving them to policemen, with the caption "We love our cops", and enjoy seeing the officers chuckle at that.
I remeber that salt and pepper suit Don Knotts wore for Date night and another funny memory is his smooth talk on the phone to Juanita. Great comedian..Thanks Jordan!
thanks jordan!!❤❤❤ and jah!!! great museum!!! Andy Griffith!! love him, love his show with Opie!!! and matlock!!!❤❤ love you jordan!!! 🤗👐🤗👐🤗 and 💋😘😗😚😙💋!! ✌☮🕊🏳✌ out!!!
Really great tour of the museum Jordan! An interesting place to visit sometime. Andy acting along with Don, the chemistry was there so funny . You know it's to bad you cant visit Ange's grave. Andy's dad, I think he made some appearances in the old show as an extra.
Great intro whistle, imagine wearing Don's suit he must have been roasting hot .🔥 You can see why he had no jacket on in the photo . What a town ,that's how you get tourists. 🧡👍
Hi Jordan it's Tammy from PA again. How are you and your "special" lady friend, and of course Jah? I want to Thank you for sharing all the interesting and not so well known facts from Andy Griffith.
