Amazing sound from Blumenhofer. These are the FS2 Mark 1 correct? Do you still have the speaker? What did you like about it? How does classical music and piano sound on FS2? Do they suffer typical horn coloration ? How are they at high volume? Very interested and thinking about buying this. Can you share more videos of FS2. Please let me know.
Thank you! Yes, this is the FS2 MK1, so it has the bass driver from another supplier. I actually love their neutrality, clarity, transparency, speed and dynamic character, but still staying kind of on the warm and full bodied side. They are a very easy load for the tube amp, so that the music don’t lack dynamics. That was NOT the case with the Tannoy Kensington GR. They sounded more slow and lazy on my 845 tubes. In comparison to the Kensington, the FS2 is less over-pronouncing the mid-range and voices (that was too much with the Kensington, specially for Trumpets and Sax) but pushing a bit more the top-end treble. I guess if you miss treble and have some space in your room (less reflections) it’s gonna work.

How is the sound of Blumenhofer compared to Tannoy?? Is it a big jump up in term of performance? Do you find Line magnetic with only 20-24watt enought power to drive Blumenhofer?
It’s close but different :) The Kensington is know for a slightly emphasized lower midrange / voices - that makes it feel more warm and more bodied. But the Blumenhofer’s sound more refined and neutral. Also the tube amp feels more comfortable with the easier load of the Blumenhofer, so it’s more dynamic and rocking with faster, powerful songs. Even 10W should be enough for the Blumenhofer - I never even tried to get at the limit of 24W at all! For me this combo here is slightly better due to more neutrality and musicality ❤️
@@powerslavenegi Dynamics and attack is better on the Blumenhofer with my tube amp (it needs really easy loads). Bass is a bit deeper with the Kensington.

For me it works well with 30-40cm to the back. They have their port to the downside, not to the back, which makes it possible ☺️
