Big up bounty Killa! Great start to a serious conversation. But the music has great impact on the mind of the youths. We know that but most artists don’t want to admit that their lyrics is a part of the problem. The music glorifies the wrong things. There use to be a balance in the music, where to every slack and derogatory song there use to be 2 or 3 cultural positive songs paying in dances or on the radio. Now it is the other way around 3 or 4 slack and derogatory songs to 1 positive uplifting music. I hear artists sing about blessings and in the same song they are sing about guns and woman underneath, only because they don’t want to come across as soft. Some of these women are also to be blamed for accepting less that they are worth or deserve. Highlight good music back in the society, music with good messages. Too much of one thing is good for nothing. We need more leaders, to many followers, weak leaders, kings and bosses in dancehall.
