Lets start a story for Philip. Add a sentance or two toward ‘s the story. So Philip wanted a mouse. He wanted it for sooo long. Why would you want a mouse? A mouse is wriggly and has a long tail thats like a worm and they smell. But although Philip all knew that, he still wanted a mouse. He asked his mum. ‘ Mum,can I have a mouse? They are so cute ?’ But his mum did’nt think that that was a good idea! I know you Philip, next week you are off to LaLande and who will have to take care of your mouse? The following week Philip took his car and indeed travelled to La Lande. He thought as La Lande had lots of land around he for sur would be able to get a mouse! But the chatelaine of LaLande said no, Philip you can’t have a mouse. A mouse is creepy and smelly and they hide in place where you will never found it again. Philip was not amused. He was so sure he would be able to have a mouse in LaLande! Why did nobody wanted him to have a mouse? ( please add a few lines to this start of the story Philip want a mouse)
@@nicolethijs5428 Philip wondered, why would it be so bad having a tiny little mouse? After all, they were very small and would not take up much room, and they couldn't possibly eat very much so would not require much food. Philip pondered what he could do to convince the chatelaine to let him have a mouse. So he took the workshop to ask the wise Selmar, why would it be a bad thing to have a mouse? Selmar in his kind calming voice said, "my fellow Dutchman, mice and cats don't mix well and I think your harmless mouse might be in danger around our lovely Ruby"....
@@Heidieqx That was a good point of course but Philip was not convinced that that was reason enough not to have a mouse! He went to Dan, the gardener and asked him. Dan, can I have a mouse! Diane's gift of the tablecloth reminded me of the type of embroidery. My sister loved this type. It is 'Richelieu' and includes 'cut work'. A technique that dates back to the medieval times. Richelieu is one that shines on white, écru, and off white colored fabrics. It is rarely used for colored fabrics except with machine embroidery that attempts to imitate it but never duplicates it. The Richelieu embroidery style became famous due to the well-known French Cardinal de Richelieu in the 14th century. He loved the embroidery so much that he had artisans and seamstresses working night and day to complete the surplice and other religious vestments sewn for him. Since then, this type of embroidery has been known to mark the prestige of a family and was often a piece de resistance in a young girl's wedding 'trousseau'. To give an idea of how long it takes to make just the napkins, each pattern has to be embroidered with the 'satin stitch' before the fabric is 'cut' away from the center. Once it is, then the satin stitch is again stitched around the edge (like a zigzag stitch) to keep the cotton, fine linen or raw silk fabric from fraying. One of the napkins here would normally take a minimum of 10 hours to complete just a corner, working continuously. You can imagine just how many hours have gone into stitching the tablecloth you have received. Nowadays, Richelieu embroidered tablecloths are still expensive, especially those that are hand stitched. The larger it is, the more details and cutwork it has, the more expensive it is. That tablecloth looks to be écru cotton and will need pressing. A tip: always put the embroidery upside down on a humid thick towel. When you iron, use the pointed tip of the iron and steam to iron out the wrinkles. This way the fabric can be ironed out and the pattern stands out.
I would hang that gardening plate in the greenhouse. Or make a flower pot from it’s pieces should it break. The gnome could keep the plate company...well, I don’t suppose you need help decorating as you have Philip there for his expert advice and wonderful taste. What ever doesn’t stay in the permanent collection, I am glad that you donate. You are such a generous person, Miss S. I hope all stay well at LaLande. How exciting to know this month’s proceeds from “Unwrapped “ will be going to the Suffolk Art Link school. I really love the art that was sent and I think Philip is correct that “Be Weird” would make a fantastic T-shirt. I would love to have one. I know there’s so much going on at the chateau, but being able to purchase items made specifically for or by Chateau de la Lande would be wonderful. There are so many artists that have sent such beautiful items and I hope some day for some sort of collaboration, where many can benefit. I know I would be very interested in buying items from such a venture
Just a simple correction....Don Julio is pronounced “Hoolio”. The J is pronounced like an H. And sipping it is the best! If you want a citrus, use a slice of orange (I prefer tangerine) instead of lime. The orange enhances the flavor much better. Simple advice from a south Texas girl who only drinks Don Julio as a tequila choice. 🙂
So many lovely and thoughtful gifts again! But what really caught my eye was that ginger cake! I would have wrestled Phillip for his big thick slice and a shot of tequila! 🦔
As you were reading the letter from Sussex Art Link I was thinking how great it would be to support their cause with the donation and it's like we were reading each other's minds!! What wonderful surprises there always are in the gifts and cards. I'm so glad to see that you are taking such good care of Stephanie. I know Mummy must be frantic to be there and make sure her daughter is on the mend so she'll be glad to see that everyone is doing that job for her. I love the tequila bottle as it reminds me of the Queen's orb from the crown jewels. I still think Phillip needs a mouse or hedgehog (real ones). Don't give up the fight Phillip. lol

This type of beige tablecloth embroidery is called Madeira because they are made on the island of Madeira. It is high quality, and prized among collectors.
Enjoyed all the beautiful and thoughtful gifts you received. I like that your going to send a donation to the artists with special needs. I for 20 years owned and operated a Residential Care home here in the US, Actually 2 of them as well as my Mother owned one, My sister owned one and my Brother owned 2 and my niece owned 2. We worked tirelessly to ensure the needs of the residents were met as well as employed others for arts, Music and games. Very important. Love to all ❤. Continuing prayers for you Stephanie.

*funny....I think you meant funny, not puny...or did you mean pun + funny = punny? Lol!
I purposely used the expression punny.... you are right it is a combination of fun and pun. it's common in Canada to say "you're being very punny today" when one is making lots of puns
I LOVE pop up books and cards they are so much fun and some of them can be very valuable.:)
What a lovely way to recuperate. Wishing you lots of love and wellness. You have made lock-down tolerable. Thank you very much.
This type of beige tablecloth embroidery is called Madeira because they are made on the island of Madeira. It is high quality, and prized among collectors.

You put them on a tree! And make a fairy house! They are the sweetest
The peacock package contains the things from Berlin, they are issued by the Foundation of Prussian Palaces and Gardens because one castle here is placed on a Peacock Island (Pfaueninsel). You should definately visit it one day.
so cute to hear you all gasping as you open the gifts. i always admired philip’s ring and am glad to hear it’s history. 🦩🐀🦔
That little gnome can go toguether with your dad's wood mushroom 🥰🥰🥰
So thrilled to see that you are recovering and so glad that you are taking care of yourself by following orders for bed rest. Your videos bring such joy and encouragement.
Well I laughed out loud at the Gnome pun Phillip!! 🤣🤣🤣
I always thought that opening umbrellas inside was because people did not pay attention in the past and broke things.
Some say it's bad luck to open one inside, while others say, only if you put it over your head.... 😮
Happy to see your feeling much better 😊
You should find the big wooden mushrooms of your father's and put them in the woods x
