    Just lovely. I hate to say this, but I have a huge set of the Inktense pencils that I have made exactly 2 cards with. I didn't start really dabbling in art until I was at least 65 years old (now 70) and have taken a scattershot approach. I can usually tell if a product I see used is something I will enjoy playing with, so while I still have a lovely allowance each week, I save up and buy the higher quality stuff. In fact, it is amazing what one can amass in a 5 year period. Because of these videos I am learning that nothing is so precious that it must be used only for something spectacular...hence, these products are beginning to see the light of day. And for that alone, CeeCee, I thank you so very much. Your encouragement is truly appreciated.

      Great to see this post! I've just started drawing and painting and I'm 67, so a late starter too. I love it so much, and wonder why I didn't do it before. Lack of time of course. I love being retired, and feel I'm playing truant every day! Love this artist's work, she's so inspiring.

      Thank you ceecee, fran rogo, and mellyju. This encourages me. I knew i wanted to try watercolor and since i am working to minimize felt it was the best to take traveling. I am 65 this year and looking forward to having more time for myself as soon as i retire...next year.

    Timing was exquisite this morning when I found this video. I came upon an unused set of Faber Castell water color pencils at the Salvation Army store yesterday for $3. I played with them a little bit but found your instruction to be informative for me. They are different, but I can see them being super cool as a tote along when not in my studio. Thank you again Ceecee for helping us to understand how to use our supplies correctly.

    I really enjoyed the way you created a reference. I often see inspiration in pieces of jewelry, a pattern in a fabric, or even textures in about anything I come across. I see these as fragments, or snapshots in my brain that I carry until I recognize a spot for them. I love watching old movies. The settings and costumes will also give me ideas. The use of the pencils was wonderful. I have a huge set of Inktense Pencils and struggle to find ways to utilize them. Beautiful piece. Very peaceful and quiet to my eye.

    Really enjoyed watching your process with the Inktense, they were the first thing I saw as I must have, but sadly I am not a lover of them. I don't like the residue they leave behind and I have used them both the ways you showed. After having said that you obviously get the best out of them because your page is so beautiful, loved the pop of pink. Tfs xo

    I am debating whether I should buy these pencils. Are they more difficult to use compared to regular watercolor pencils? Are they easy to blend? How are they different? I wonder if they are like markers. As I watch you, you make it look so easy bec you already know what you are doing. But for beginners who have not used it before, are they worth it and easy to manipulate as far as blending the colors. My intention is to combine them with regular watercolor paints. Apply it in areas where it needs some brightening effect unless this is a standalone pencils. Appreciate a response. Thank you

    CeeCee , This was so fun to watch. I'm curious about your color choices. They are so nice. How do you choose your color palette? It's always a struggle for me. Thank you CeeCee.
    Joni

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you, Joni! the color choice seems to be going with my moods. sometimes i need bright bold colors, sometimes more pastels. for this one, it seems to be bold and in the cool tones. i usually try either do cool tones or warm tones separately, unless i want something to pop then i'll use a warm color for the background and use cool tones for the main focus . sometimes it's the reverse, warm over cool background. again it all depends on my mood. i suggest looking up color theory and color wheels. it really helps when you're stuck.

    So this was great....I have all those intense pencils and rarely use them as well...so I found this very exciting CeeCee. I love that you are so open to using other water media.You are indeed a kindred spirit. I did my own version of this painting and may send it to you. I based it on your still life set up but did mine before I watched yours...lol...then I did another version afterwards. I want to find my own style but I love yours so much that it is hard not to copy. Oh well, imitation is the highest form of flattery they say. Thanks again.

    I've been starting every morning with you while I'm having my tea and waking up. I've been meaning to write and I'm sorry I havent.
    I just wanted to let you know the short vacation you took really helped. You have been doing some great stuff. Everyday it seems there's been something different and new. You seem to push yourself a bit further. I appreciate all you share with us. Thank you.
    Also, the inktense is a bit different because it's ink, but I love them too. The colors are so clear and vibrant. I just love them and combine them with my regular watercolor pencils too. Thanks once again for all you share with us.💜💜💜

    How do you keep the points on your Derwerts sharp. I have bought so many different sharpeners and have not been able to get anyone of them to work without breaking the point off or the lead is in the pencil crooked. Do you have any suggestions?

      i suppose i hit lucky with the electric sharpener i got from Staples (Staples brand too). however, i have noticed that it is starting to break the leads too. i guess they have a short life cycle. i purchased mine about 2 years and it think it's time i purchase another one. sorry if i don't have any suggestions.
