The lead singer is Steven Tyler. He wrote this song in 1965 when he was 17. It was recorded, produced and released in 1973!

Joe Perry is the lead guitarist for Aerosmith.
Steven Tyler (singer) is well-known for his raspy, high-pitched screeches.

To be fair, we had fewer outlets for bands to be heard and discovered. We had "Supergroups" that spanned decades, snd they were definitely the 'cream of the crop'. Today, everyone has a home studio and releases his/her "art" (Using that term loosely). Listners, are more interested in entertainment than talent these days, so the mainstream scene is uselss....
That being said, there are probably just as many talanted artists out there today, but we need to weed through the assload of self promoted mediocrity and mainstream plastic bullshit to find it. Think about it... TH-cam has more talant than all of the major lables combined. Sad, but also pretty cool. They're out there if you look hard enough and want to add the occasional track to your classic playlist... Don't give up. ;-)

This band is from Boston Mass. & has been together since the 70's & still are performing today!! The lead singer ( Steven Tyler) wrote this song at 17 yrs old. They have PLENTY of songs to listen & react to, So you have a VERY big variety to choose from. ENJOY & GOD BLESS

Steven Tyler grew up between Yonkers NY and Sunapee NH. His family owned cottages on Lake Sunapee NH and rented them out for income. His family (Dad and uncles) were classically trained musicians. Lake Sunapee was a bustling tourist area in the summer, full of people and activity. Late summer, bummed that the summer was over, Steven Tyler, then Tallarico sat down and wrote the melody at the age of 17 in NH. Years later, when sharing an apartment with the guys in Aerosmith, living in Boston, Steven started playing Dream on. Tom and Joe started playing what Steven was, by following his hands on the piano, and hence, this song was born.

1973, I was 11. Had a blind Brother who loved radio prizes (caller number 9, etc.) LP's came in the mail all the time. When I'd get home from school, he'd have me play all the tracks on the album. Then he'd say either he'd keep it I could have it. He passed on this one lol. Seeing Joe and Steven down front, blew me away, and then the tunes got me hooked...

Aerosmith’s career was revived by Walk This Way with Run DMC, and it’s also the song that broke through and gave hip hop mainstream exposure. With that song and Eminem’s Song for the Moment Aerosmith is prominent in 2 classic hip hop songs.
