You should check that your engagement ring has a shatter line; some of those rings are impossible to cut off in emergency situations. You do not want to put your doctor in the position of having to cut off a finger because ERs don't carry the right equipment to safely cut through tungsten carbide! Some of the "indestructible" rings are now made with a purposeful shatter point that will break if enough pressure is applied; it's important for you and your emergency contact to know that so someone can tell emergency personnel. Heck, keep a card in your cool wallet saying the ring has one, if it does, just in case.

The 7 rings of Hell (Fish Keeping)
    - Tiny tank
    - No filter
    - Overstocking
    - No water changes
    - Putting it on a bad stand where it could fall
    - Not doing your research
    - The worst one of them all: Getting fish and ignoring them/refusing to take proper care of them

That tube would look pretty with fake fish, since they don't poop, don't need oxygen, and don't die. Maybe some fish shaped beads on transparent fishing line, so it looks like they're floating, with a solar powered motor that moves them so it looks like they're swimming while the sun is out? And use glass paint to add some plants on the vase, or a tiny little reef. There used to be bubbler tubes like that that had plastic fish "swimming" around in the current.

My family has a family red eared slider that's about 20 years old (he was originally my brothers, but then my Granny took him over, and now my dad is caring for him) he gets so excited when I come over cause I rub his shell with a soft toothbrush, and he gets so excited to get a little shell wash. He still tries to bite sometimes, but that's just how he shows affection 😂

On that 30 gallon there looks to be a magnetic algae scrubber…
Probably not effective on coralline algae, at least not at *that* stage, but a little effort goes a long way to prevention
And yeah that’s definitely a frog fish, master of camouflage^^
Called frog fish because it has frog-like legs instead of fins. Super cool

From the looks of it, it might be a *Hairy Frogfish* though I'm not the best at identifying saltwater fish beyond the general "Family" xD
They're often called Frogfish because of their resemblance to frogs. They're related to anglerfish but don't have a swimbladder so they walk or "hop" along the sea floor.
Frogfish have modified pectoral/pelvic fins with knee/elbow-like articulation that actually bend as they walk. They're really funny to watch TBH.
If they need to get anywhere fast, they can expell water through reduced gill openings to give them a big boost forward.

Dude, I had the same vase/fish tank😂 with a bottom filter, live plants, oxygenated, I even did a floating moss ball in the middle.
And it's not even good enough for 10 shrimps🥲they started to swim non-stop after 2 days.
So I removed 6 shrimps and the moss ball, added a long piece of wood with a hydroponic plant on the top, and put a small crab in there.
now they are doing pretty good, I just need to throw some snails in from time to time😁
The hike for the crab is indeed a workout though lol
That thing by no means can be a "fish" tank.

The cockatoo waspfish is turning in the tank...that's why you can't see his back half. They don't get to be big fish, but they are poisonous and considered dangerous to humans. What's more puzzling than "where his tail at?" is how is that fish "unexpected". Did he just waltz into your house and sneak into the tank?

  • @punkinholler

I don't keep fish. I know roughly as much about maintaining an aquarium as I would need to have a raging case of dunning-krueger.
That said, can you use a tall skinny cylinder like that to keep jellyfish? I know they need round tanks with a current but I've no idea how wide it needs to be

  • @Chompchompyerded
    @Chompchompyerded ปีที่แล้ว +3

I'm getting started in fish keeping. I'm doing it bit at a time since I'm poor. I got a tank. Maybe that will be the first picture I send for rating. I don't know how many gallons (if any) it will hold. It ought to be adequate though. If I push hard enough, I should be able to wedge a nano-fish of some sort into it. I'll need to keep the fish in the bag it came in from the pet shop though, since the water has been shut off to my place, pending my paying 18 months of back water bills. I'll send a picture of that for rating too. When I get water again, and when I get them out of the bag, I'll have a difficult choice to make. Should I buy a filter first, or should I buy fish food first? Either way, I'll send a picture. All that fish food on the bottom should cover for the fact that I won't have any substrate yet. I've ruled out plants since the fish will be taking up most of the room It's one of the drawbacks of having an extremely small aquarium.
If you'd like to see the progress I make in this aquarium over the next few years give me a thumbs up. If you think I should be reported to Animal Control, give me a thumbs down and include constructive or destructive comments below. Absolutely soul destroying comments will be welcomed, for fairness and balance.

that's not what I mean. I was referring to the fact that getting hung up about 'performing' in exams can prevent you from enjoying college as a learning experience - the fear of failing exams can be a lot to deal with, and obsessing about getting good grades can blind you to the true purpose of college - the forming of well rounded individuals who can approach any subject with the right attitude and the skill set to handle life.
For some people that's about learning how to achieve academically, but for others, it might just be about learning how to get on with other people or live independently away from the family home.

But can this size be used temporarily?? For an evening of 2h - 4h? 🤔 would that be too much for them?

My favorite phone ever was my Pixel 3. I had it for almost 4 years, until one day it just suddenly wouldn't turn on anymore :( I have a Pixel 6 now. Look at a 6a or 7a if you want to save money. Highly recommend the Pixel line.

What's the best phone? A land line. Ericofon. Look it up. Ours has been working non-stop without fail since 1962. That includes two generations of teenage girls hanging on it silently while their boyfriends pretended to hang on it silently from the other end. Sixty one years of use. Get that mileage out of a cell phone. Ain't happening. And even though the Ericofon was one of the most popular telephones of its time, it was a miniscule fraction of what the least expensive cell phone is today. In working order, a vintage Ericofon today goes anywhere from between $40.00 to well over $300.00, depending on the year it was made. Sorry. Since I still use mine, it's not for sale.

I blame those bubble towers from the 90s. Dude saw one and said let’s s make it a fish tank with real fish. Common people. Surface area not volume is more important

Frogfish are a whole family of some of the weirdest looking fish you'll ever see, and yes the others do look considerably more frog-like, this one is just too hairy so you can't see it.
