Please leave a comment as it helps me grow my channel and our woodworking community! I will start us off....I "love" or "detest" pumpkin pie🥧🥧🥧 Let me know?!?
Happy Thanksgiving Cliff, we are celebrating 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving this weekend and I agree everyday is worth being thankful for but the Turkey eating sure is nice too😀
Great quality build and I like the customization. Good to see you putting your laser to work and helps me think of other ideas with mine. Free plans is also awesome of you to offer for others. 👍. I forgot to ask, your new mic sounds good, what did you end up going with?
This is the first video of yours I have run across, and I enjoyed it very much. Your shop seems to be well-equipped, and you should definitely invest in a scroll saw. Not only will it help you avoid changing the blade out on your band saw, it will open up lots of possibilities for projects with details you can only get with a scroll saw.
The DeWalt is a good saw in the medium price range, but if your budget can handle it I recommend the Pegas scroll saw. I did a review of it and have made many projects with it on my TH-cam channel, Bob's Home Woodshop.
Welcome to the channel :) I agree that a scroll saw is waaaaay overdue for me to purchase, so I'll let you in on a little secret, I have one arriving tomorrow :)
@@standishwoodstory Excellent, and welcome in advance to the club. Please let us know how you like it after having some time to work with it. No matter what brand of scroll saw you purchased, I highly recommend the Pegas Modified Geometry blades.
@@bobshomewoodshop7996 It has officially arrived, so I am hoping to find some time to test it out this coming week. Any good advice for newbies on how to best scroll? Oh and you mentioned the pegas blades, but any particular TPI?
@@standishwoodstory TPI applies to bandsaw blades, but it is not the primary consideration with scroll saw blades. I choose which scroll saw blade to use based on the thickness of the wood, hardness of the wood, and the complexity of the pattern I will be cutting. I have a video on the subject on my TH-cam channel.
Wnnie, you have me thinking about all the Fall holidays, certainly my favorite time of the year. I can smell the sawdust in my woodshop just watching your video....and in your new shop! I love pumpkin pie with ice cream (vanilla of course) and a healthy dose of whip cream. Hoping to keep my figure this winter......oh well. Your video was great! Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
You’re welcome 😊 are you team metric or imperial? Personally metric is my go to but it is tricky to use exclusively where I am (Canada) as so many measurements are listed in imperial (wood sizes, bit sizes, etc). I found I had to…. Reluctantly… learn both 😂
This is great. I was looking for a fun quick project for the holidays…and here it is. I own that DeWalt and highly recommend it. On the plus side of the scroll saw, they manufacture sanding blades that are used for the type of sanding that Turkey needs so no hand sanding needed
Sanding blades you say, well that sounds amazing, I think I may have to take a look at that scroll saw sooner than later, thanks for sharing that! Have fun building.
Funny - I’m also looking to add a scroll saw to my shop. While there do seem to be some decent smaller ones, everything I’ve read says go with the DeWalt DW788 (20 inch) and you won’t regret it. It sounds like the best bang for the buck. They go for about $599 USD new so I’d love to find a used one locally if possible, just to save some money. It would be handy but not something I will use all the time.
Winnie: I made the turkey and pumpkin napkin holder over the weekend, but using a scroll saw rather than a bandsaw. With your permission, I would like to publish my video on the subject on my channel. I will, of course, give you full credit for the pattern and will give a link to this video as well. My channel is not as large as yours, but hopefully I can introduce some of my subscribers to your channel in the process.

I need a band saw like yours. I cut tree limbs into boards and have to cut my limbs to 5 1/2" for them to fit. That saw would be a God send!
Sounds like a great wish for Christmas ;)
Thanks for the Thanksgiving plans. Going to make it for my daughter
Your most welcome, have fun building :)
Thanksgiving -- my favorite holiday!! Although I am thankful daily for how blessed I am, there is something special about Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving Cliff, we are celebrating 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving this weekend and I agree everyday is worth being thankful for but the Turkey eating sure is nice too😀
@@standishwoodstory Well then Happy Thanksgiving eat some Turkey for me :)
@@cliff5240 I absolutely did, your turn is coming up soon, enjoy :)

Thanks 😊 the mic is the Rode Wireless ll, it’s pretty easy to use and holds battery pretty decently as well. Would recommend for sure.
Pegas scroll saw or the many brand versions of that saw, king, or the original Excalibur. Love my Pegas saw, high quality and precise.
Thanks for the recommendations

Uhh nice choice 🥧! Happy fall, enjoy the holidays and coming up with fun projects to keep you in the shop :)
I can't wait tio start woodworking when i get my own house!
Great dream to have but don’t be scared to start now, a few tools can make for a lot of fun even in tiny spaces :)
Thank you for using both metric and imperial measurements.

I'm team imperial all the way. I do understand what you mean by having to learn a new system
Lol.

Great build 💯👍
Thanks 👍
Oh boy, pumpkin is my favorite pie and even better with a classic scoop of vanilla ice cream. Now I made myself hungry😂
Now you made me hungry😂😂
Sounds yummy 😋
20” Dewalt. I have had one for over 20 years. Still going strong.
Wow that is a review that says a lot! 20 years. Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll be making a purchase soon 😄😄😄
What fun projects, Winnie! I especially love the turkey - as will my family. Can’t wait to make one. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼 🦃 🎃

It seems to be the favourite for sure and I’m learning so much about it from users, sounds like it has some really cool features.
Fine ting du laver❤️
