I think the Lehkonen trade also had the benefit to lead us down the rankings, the same way the Toffoli one did. Without it, maybe we don’t end up with Slaf nor Demidov.
I like the move for 2 reasons: a) Baron was doing nothing new. b) EVERY young player will be old one day. You need to layer the team in variation of age to give contract variation and help the team's continuity.
Too bad they couldnt send Barron to NJ this summer instead of Kovacevik
Can you think of a softer player than Barron in our group over 5ft 7? I cannot. All the best for his future career but won't be missed.

Barron is no great loss. Glad to see they traded him for someone who plays defense and not tried to be a jack of all trades.
Saw him play in Minny a few weeks ago very impressed, better skater and defender. On LTIR though , but a better fit,
He's coming of LTIR and is ready to play.
Matheson doing Matheson things? Turning the puck over, getting knocked off the puck and defensive dumpster fire?
Is Carrier being brought on board so Savard can be traded?
Exactly!
Hopefully. I love Savy. But he’s in the twilight of his career and both he and the Habs are better suited to him moving on.
Can we ship out Matheson asap now...?

The Habs used the second rd pick to move up and get micheal Hage
Now can we get rid of Matheson, he’s so bad
