  • Despite being ahead of the curb by releasing their first single in 1976 followed by a classic single in 1978, the Nervous Eaters seem to have gotten lost in the shuffle. It didn't help that they released a mediocre album on a major label in 1980. They disappeared for awhile after that and then returned and finally hit the top shelf with the release of the Hot Steel and Acid MLP in 1986 featuring mostly songs they were playing in 1977-1978. Unfortunately, 1986 was the middle of the Hardcore Punk era and not many wanted to hear the sounds of 1977 at that time. It's a shame they didn't get an LP out in 1978. Anyone that listens to the live tapes of the Nervous Eater that are out there know that they easily had enough great songs for two classic albums. Some of those songs have been officially released on the Eaterville #1 and #2 albums in Spain, but still not all of the songs they played in that time period have been released. On this live recording there are about five songs that have not yet been officially released in any form. This recording is a soundboard or radio recording so the sound quality is very good.

*Anybody know who's on the Keyboards?, this what the Elecktra album should have sounded but Rick Harte fixed that problem with the outstanding " Hot Steel And Acid "(Especially on the CD reissue)*

I believe the line up on this recording is Steve Cataldo - vocals/Guitar, Rob Skeen - Bass, Jeff Wilkinson - Drums, Matthew MacKenzie - Guitar and Mark Styles - Keyboard. That's according to an issue of Subway News, a Boston music newspaper, from Spring 1979.
