The earliest ones I've heard is from "set it off" I can say they're far from beatdown more like the typical "NYHC" I can agree they're one of the pioneers of beatdown hardcore but bulldoze, well that band for sure is one of the first ones.

i would say that the riffs are tipically more hardcore punk, meanwhile grindcore is more influenced by Slayer and other thrash stuff
