I wish Apple would make a tablet mode Apple CarPlay
I stopped using built-in navigation in my vehicles a couple of years ago as long as there is internet connection available. Google Maps and Waze are pretty much the only reason to have CarPlay. Any software installed into the vehicle and does not get updated periodically becomes obsolete shortly. That said, I'm still getting XC90!
Alex Len well the maps get updated all the time. You will see a prompt for installing map updates and it does live traffic but not as good as Waze of course. Enjoy it if you get one! Thanks for watching.
Hi great video, but remeber Apple Car play is more than just music. The navigation is actually pretty good too. Dont need navi in the car. You can also run spotyfy from the phone via AC.

In the US i believe it is standard for 2018.
Honestly I'm not sure I paid for this as an extra, but I wouldn't if I had the choice because the Sensus connect works just fine with SIRI and via bluetooth, even using USB w/o Apple CarPlay
The cable for your iphone is black? It maybe claim to be an MFi certified cable. But in my experience with CarPlay on many cars the genuine Apple cables work 100% reliable (unless the cable is damaged).
I have that car... trying to figure out why Apple Carplay isn't working so well with my 18 speakers!

I WANTED TO ASK YOU...which Volvo still has CD player and aux input? is the 2017 the last xc90 that has the CD player included? its frustrating that bluettoth or streaming is the only option for the music??? is there any other way to add the CD player to Volvo? or aux input? I love both!
my 2018 s90 has aux, no cd player tho

Tomas Cautereels you know I don’t necessarily think so as you have navigation and can still use SIRI (see my other video). Unless you are hooked on Apple I don’t think it is worth it. Thanks for watching!
Since it's becoming standard on much cheaper cars, I think they will include it in a future software update. Hope they can add the wireless version for the existing cars..
