I have used a clothesline with turnbuckles and I wouldn't have it any other way. Putting heavy wet items on that line will stretch it. And I cannot think of anything more annoying then having your freshly washed blankets blowing in the breeze and dragging through the dirt. Thank you for this video. Clearly some just don't get it.
I have a similar set up. How the he k do you stop the clothes (on bottom wire) flipping over and getting stuck wrapped around the top wire rope? I've tried spacers, weighting bottom of clothes with clips etc. This happens more often with pillow cases, towels, large sheets etc. The wind here on west Australia tends to change direction a lot over the day.
with the left side held by the hook from the house and the right side held with one of his hands, turning the turn buckle clockwise(facing the house) brings both hooks closers together( I believe they are threaded in opposite directions).
Roderick White I don't know where you find the clothesline adjuster he has in the video, but you can probably use a ratchet buckle to do the same thing. These ratchet buckles usually come with straps and are commonly used to secure cargo. I would think all you would need to do is remove the straps from the buckle and feed the clothesline into the ratchet buckle. Then crank the buckle to tighten.
But a "clothesline adjuster" gizmo cannot travel over the wheels at either end of the line - over and around the "pulley-wheels", I think is the correct phasing... What gives? Does that mean that if I have a "clothesline adjuster" gizmo, then I'll only be able to pull the line back & forth, back & forth - never all the way through and around in a complete circle?? If you have a minute, pls let me know your thoughts on the matter, thx from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada! :)
He's Canadian. :) I don't know if there's more to it with this particular person, but there are lots of linguistic influences here in Canada from Ireland, Scotland, etc.
