I like in the opening statement plaintiffs said their friends laughed at their sofa when they seen it , meaning they were shamed because they spent $6 grand on a couch. Is that what this case really about? They should have inspected it at delivery and sent it back.

    • @crystalshaw8744

    • @orcasgirl1

@BillMoran3219 They DID inspect it at the first delivery, and complained. The company took it back right then. The company supposedly reworked it, and brought it a second time. It still wasn't to their satisfaction, so they stopped payment on the check, and sued.

    $6K for a couch??!!!
    Holy crap!
I always try to guess, (based on the announcer's opening statements when the litigants enter the courtroom) of where I think the case is going. 😉
And my feelings were that the plaintiffs were being ridiculous, picky "Karens", who were impossible to please under any circumstances.🙈🙉🙊
Wow, was I wrong on this one...
When the spray bottle came out, it was obvious that this guy was scamming to get his money right now, or he wasn't leaving.
I don't blame the plaintiffs one bit for putting a stop payment on that check.
And I'd be surprised if this scammer even gets $500 for that POS couch.
And realistically, it looks like a really comfortable couch, and I'm not picky about the looks. I have a 75# lap dog, so all of my furniture has covers & blankets on them to keep them from getting dirty and damaged.
Yeah, I'd pay $500 for that couch, delivered.😉

    I believe the defendant:
If you have a couch with loose cushions and you randomly just throw those cushions on that couch, they will indeed look crooked and there can very well be gaps.
What you need to do, is place the cushions nicely and mindfully and THEN you should get them nice and straight.
The pictures the plaintiffs brought are no good for that reason.
And the defendant was too polite when taking his picture and should have first straightened the cushions.
The overfilling on the other hand seems like a bad thing. However: if it is known to be a kind of filling that will dent quickly, the is something to be said for having them a bit too full at first, so they will even out nicely when they are used.
THEN the question becomes: should the manufacturer have used that stuffing in a couch that costs $6000.
(Even though I myself don’t spend that amount on a couch, because it is an item that must be USED (without living on the edge of a heart attack whenever there is a drink, food, a pet, a toddler, a shoe….near that couch!), I do know that $6000 is not outrageous either for a couch)

For $6000 you could get a top brand leather sofa, not a bunch of hessian potato sacks that are badly filled and lumpy, this is just bad workmanship...

That couch didn’t look great. $6000 for a couch isn’t unreasonable, I’d say that’s a mid-level couch, not exactly high end.

I think the plaintiffs should take the cushions in question (all of them) to a shop that does custom foam sofa cushions in varying firmness. The cushions clearly are *NOT filled with foam rubber material, i.e., a SOLID piece of foam.*

Disagree with you, you could see the seams on the cushions were wonky. If you sell premium, you should deliver premium.

I mean I know they were looking for something specific but they’re really nitpicking the hell out of the sofa. Personally I don’t think the couch is terrible. I’m surprised they didn’t just make their own so they can’t complain as much as they have.

    • @JayTheDodo
      @JayTheDodo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

I disagree, I don't think they're nitpicking. When you buy a bespoke premium piece of furniture you expect to get that. If the seller can't produce what he's promising, he's at fault. If they were complaining about a $500 sofa, sure I'd agree with nitpicking, however not here in this case where they spent $6000 on a promised outcome.
