Mini-Z 4x4 Jeep Wrangler Upgrade Test 1 - Shocks, Tires | Ep.13

I love how capable the stock Mini-Z 4x4 Wrangler off-the-box, and as much as possible, I'd like to preserve what I can. But to allow this 1/18 crawler to take on next-level obstacles, I've installed a few upgrades that address its major pain points.
‪@Yeahracingrc‬ Yeah Racing internal shocks - build quality is top-notch, but they were a bit too stiff even with the soft springs. With some tuning, I made the front shocks sit at 50% compressed and the rear 70% compressed. These adjustments allowed more travel and articulation, as you'll is see in some scenes of the video. I opted for spring shocks instead of oil because the latter might be too stiff or slow for the lightweight setup.
Brass hex adapters to aid in sidehilling and enable standard wheels.
RGT 46mm tires mounted on plastic wheels to maintain a lightweight set up. This wheel set required no filing, albeit minimal rubbling on the rear.
Aluminum steering link to eliminate flexing during downward crawl.
Hoping to upgrade the servo soon. Turning radius was reduced with the brass hex weight and offset. I'm considering the Hobby Plus 1kg servo as replacement, which will need some electrical and mounting mods, so this will have to wait.
I purchased high-clearance aluminum lower links from a seller named Zolikar on Amazon, but the measurements were way too short. So I guess I'll have to go with Kyosho metal rods for the next round of upgrades (or please let me know if you have a better idea).

You’ll fond this tires on AliExpress. Try searching “13612 RGT tires”. The YeahRacing shocks you’ll find on Amazon or directly from them. Yes, using brass hex adapters for this to make the wheels fit. You’ll find 3D printed mini-z parts also on etsy or ebay, just look for SleekRC 🤘🏼
