The shoes were actually coming from the shoe industry in the Philippines as a gift to Imelda being the number 1 supporter of the local products. Now, the shoe industry in the Philippines perished because the Philippine government does not support the shoe industry.

for your awareness- all of these accusations are coming from the opposition parties (sadly majority of the medias were using black propaganda against him) you can tell there are people who easily judge marcos wrongfully- i say this because i personally experienced what kind of life during his terms and theyre all wasnt really that bad versus how media portray him as dictator. im one of the majority filipinos doesnt look on how rich or poor you are- but the character of the person. anyway until now majority of filipinos love him specially his hometown. i wont be suprise if his son become president next week.

Video time stamp 5:25. They did not show, they never! The people under his rival Corazon Aquino went in like wild animals in the Malacañang palace with their cameras, the time the Marcos family were escorted to Hawaii for exile. They got everything even the educational diplomas of Marcos children. Everything they have. That’s why we say it’s inhuman what they did to the Marcos family. Now it’s payback time. I just wish Corazon Aquino still alive, Benigno Aquino alive to look at the victory of Marcos return would be fulfilling. But it doesn’t matter to the Marcos family because they’re not revengeful. They said all the time. They believe in divine justice. And finally finally thanks to Duterte for paving the way. Thanks God for the answered prayer of many.

There is always poverty in every nation, but during FEM presidency, the poor are the lazy people who don’t like to do hard work or the people who went to the mountains and became rebels. I was born during the Marcos regime and life then was great. We have a small holding of land for planting rice and that’s more than enough to pay for the school fees for me and my siblings. Agriculture back then was heavily supported by the Marcos regime. If you do farming now, it’s not even enough to pay all your bills.

    • @andalilbitqueer

@@gideon6495 Of course rebellion is much less work than "hard work". That's just the type of logic befitting the victims of Marcos' propaganda. Meanwhile, thousands of filipino civilians where routinely slaughtered because they dared to disagree or were frienda with someone who did.

I don't feel like commenting, but I just want to justify all the issues at that time until now are only rumors, no proof. The media and rebels went to the palace and steal everything like paintings, jewelries and all, except for the shoes because it is quite big. The paintings were made by national artist. FYI Marcos did not get his salary during his time. Marcos' family was rich before he became President, he was a lawyer and became a congressman, during his time as a lawyer there was a client that paid him a big amount of gold. There were proof just research it. He was not a dictator because he was elected by the people. And during this interview, he was heaving a health problem, he was not sweating but his eyes were tired and teary. That's all. My heart was aching while watching this interview. I can feel his pain about the rumors that was spread by his enemies. Now BBM is going to be President, and the people loved him just liked his dad. Victory for BBM ❤✌️

      Nutribun
Nutribun is a bread prepared as a convenient “ready-to-eat complete meal” and distributed in the Philippines to combat malnutrition among young children.
Contrary to popular belief, nutribun was a project of the United States Agency for International Development and not the Marcos administration.

@Robert Cyril Soria. True, Nutribun is, in fact, a USAID project. It was put in place during the Marcos administration in the 1970s to combat malnutrition. Hence, it's a joint project.
However, even though the ingredients were still provided by USAID, the government took over the production in 1975. Following that, some changes were made in order to sustain this initiative. In Iloilo for example, they used "maskubado" instead of the original ingredients. That is why people continue to associate this with the Marcoses. because this program were only made available and accessible during the Marcos years.

The opositions were the one who makes that exposé. What she usually wore abroad is a Filipina Dress to promote our own cultural design. Marcos is very wealthy eversince coz he is brilliant and indulged himself in trading gold. Pres. Marcos was being sabotage by the oligarchs and somebody who wants to control the world. @Music game Newa, Imelda did not put her shoes out for Public, It was the people during the 1986 rebellion de stabilizing the government. People entered the palace, destroys and grabs anything they see. One thing for you to know , Marikina shoes is a large shoe company in the Phils. and before they let it out to sell in the market, they offer /give Imelda 10 pairs each time . She actually was promoting Phils. shoes at that time and she uses Marikina shoes most of her travels. Expensive shoes were given to her during visits and ends up on her shoe shelves because they don"t fit her. As the interviewer says, the price tags are still on after for so many years. In fact He is the best President the Phils. ever got other than Duterte. Those who are against the gov't , the rebellions created all the chaos because they can't bear another term Marcos sitting as a president again . From a foreigner point of view everything would be literal. Not enough space to explain everything. If you are from Africa then you must have heard the fate of Libya and Muammar Gaddafi he was recognized by Africa and it’s tribes as King of the Kings, highly respected. Libya prosper then suddenly everything went bad and was accused of so many things. If you dig deeper you’ll find the similarity of regime change.
Please you can’t make assumptions not knowing the full history of our country and politics. He is sick by that time the lights may cause him to perspire.
Malacañang is an official house of the president just like the White house Cory Aquino was the first unelected president who didn’t reside there. If by choice they don’t want to fine but she started it. Why do you think?

Imelda promoted the Marikina shoe industry. Shoe manufacturers gave her the best they made and she wore and promoted it without modelling fee. You can ask the owners and elders... it's the truth. Duterte promoted the Marikina shoe as well. Marikina shoe maker will always be proud that the shoes they made wore by known people. Marikina is the shoe capital of the Philippines. Imagine how many shoe makers made a shoe/shoes for her then count/multiply it to 20years. Most of her shoes are the Marikina pride.

True and not all of her shoes were expensive. Most of them were from MARIKINA. They were giving her new releases of their products that reason why Mari kina shoes has gotten so popular before it was because of her. She was a fashion icon. Anything she wears gets so famous. Wearing those shoes helped a lot of people from Mari kina. Wearing those shoes helped Marikina shoe industry.

The biggest factory of shoes here in the PHILIPPINES which is MARIKINA SHOES EXCHANGE explained that they have been giving former First Lady a shoes everyday for her to promote it. They provide her 2 identical designs but the other one is a flat shoes while the other has a heels. Imelda is helping it since there’s no support for these local made shoes before and sadly until now.

The shoes that were also given to Imelda Marcos is also to promote Filipino Made shoes all over the world through State Visits that the former President and First Lady attended. And the truth is they were exciled in Hawaii though they won the SNAP ELECTIONS versus the Aquino yet they were forced to bring them to Hawaii and after they left PCGG was made and collected all their so called "Ill gotten wealth." And to also explain why she let the media enter their house is also to promote Filipino Culture the artifacts and paintings made and given to them and that includes the 3000 shoes.

Hi, Ovela. While I understand that you were blindly reacting to the video and it was your raw reaction solely based on the material, we hope you research immensely on this matter fairly - two sides of the coin. The Marcoses were victims of propaganda by the media and foreign influences. This discussion is so heavy and requires immense research and critical thinking.
I'm saddened and a bit disappointed. But I totally understand where you're coming from vis a vis this reaction video.

Take of 3 Asian Dictators who ruled their respective countries at around the same time
Park Chung Hee - South Korea
    1962-1979
    Lee Kwan Yew -Singapore
    1959-1990
    Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
    1965 -1986
Philippines was the richest among the 3 in 1965 when FM Sr. started what happened in the late 70's onwards? FM Sr. ended up with a bankrupt Central bank asking Singapore's Lee for loans
If FM Sr. Didn't became President. Philippines at the minimum will be at the level of Thailand's Economy
