I already liked Floofty as a character before the DLC, but Shelda was a pleasant surprise. Her abandoning her facade. knowing well that what she says should not be misinterpreted, and the straight up "this boy needs therapy" made her much more compelling for me. Also the acid throwing comment, one of my favorite lines in the entire game
Idk if your trying to correct this person or just pointing it out but the bulk of this comment is reffering to shelda thats what all the shes are about, the first and last sentences are about floofty and dont use pronouns. Just trying to help clear things up

The lgbt and neurodivergency rep aswell as just the amazing characters make it an amazing game and you really help visualise and tell it in an interesting way! It was definitely hard to do an impromptu sequel usually i plan them out like the 1,2,3 and bbs/ddd comparisons bit it was fun to have people ask me for things
I honestly love the fact that they gave more character to Shelda, it’s nice to see that the devs cared enough about her character and made something more of it and even made it really nice- like hardly anything in the game or the DLC feel just thrown together so heck yea for that! I loved the base game, and the DLC was like a delicious cherry on top. Shelda and Floofty get some much-needed extra screen time to breathe and be themselves. I agree that Triffany's arc didn't seem to add too much, but I loved the DLC nonetheless, especially the bits with Chandlo. I always thought it was really good of the DLC to address the origins and irrationalities Snorpy's delusions, explaining how there's a reason why he got so deep into that rabbit hole without justifying it, and how Chandlo's been trying to deal with it all. And there's also the bit about how Chandlo convincing Snorpy into coming to Snaxburg wasn't a good idea in the first place. While the game does confirm that Snorpy was right about there being a conspiracy, it's pretty much the only thing he did get right. Everything else about their intentions, identity and whether they are any threat to Snorpy and Chandlo in the first place was completely off-base. It never sat right with me how a lot of people's take-away from the original ending was "Snorpy was right all along!!" when his anxiety and paranoia are clearly unhealthy, and as the DLC now shows, still like 99% mistaken. I can see how someone would see the original ending and think Eggabell and Lizbert died, their photo during the credits looks more like it's set in the past than the present. Hence why I'm glad the DLC does away with the ambiguity and shows photos of them slowly unSnakifying to fully confirm that they did survive. Hooray!
I love Bugsnax and I really hope that more Bugsnax content will come out! It’s starting to gain more attention which is making me really happy, because this game deserves it!
Fun fact- originally Eggabell was supposed to die during the ending at Frosted Peak. Someone told the director of the game it fell inside the “Bury your gays” category, plus the whole area was a little empty with no one to show the player what to do. And so, Eggabell was made into a main character in the main story! Plus, in the new ending credits there’s more pics of Eggabell and Lizbert fixing Snaxburg :)
I feel like the DLC really gave us more characterization to the characters we didn't get too know much about, like Shelda and Chandlo. I'm super excited to get it in the future 💖
I think the fact that the DLC is free makes it appealing, since it is super rare to see a game give out a free DLC nowadays. Also, it does show us more about Floofty and Shelda's relationship, as well as giving Triffany more screentime.
If you didn’t already know there’s a secret ending if you have been in the triplicate space basically after doing the triplicate space you complete the game and instead of the normal secret ending with your boss and jamfoot it’s jamfoot freaking out about the tapes and you reading them
You don’t exactly find the triplicate space by accident because once you come back to snacktooth, an unknown person sends you a letter saying you have found a way to get to a very special place and that grumpbeard will be your guide. The place you find the triplicate space is behind that ship in the boiling bay. The one floofy was staying in. And in alagander’s tapes he says the snakolytes were decents of grumpbeard. One thing I noticed is that the person sending you the The letter is never actually identified. The only thing that is there is the letter B. It can’t be your boss because on the deck says clumby c. Clumbernut. I have a theory that eggabelle is part of the snakolytes. A few times in the game egg is referred to as doctor Baggernut hence the B. She might have run into alagander while being up on the mountain. Alagander probably never told her the bugsnax were a threat but maybe egg saw him go into the triplicate space. It could also be beffaca but I think that’s very unlikely.
I dont think i ever found the letter or if i did i forgot, i had to google it 😅. But yeah i dont know who it could be, maybe it is egg it might be a new person entierly but only time will tell
Actually now that I think about it, there is one other person in the bugsnax universe with a B in their name. Baronica lottablog, triffany’s grandmother. Jamfoot says something in his tapes about how baronica when down a path you should not follow. One of the reasons Triffany when to the island was to look for the remains of her grandmother. And the only thing they found left of her was her skull. If she was part of the snakolytes, that would explain why she went missing. However triffany says how she found her skull but not the rest of her. I think that is because she ate too many snax and her limbs turned into food. But her head was not turned to snax. She is probably dead and was foreshadowing what bugsnax did to anyone who ate them but she could still be alive. Maybe it was someone else’s skull.
Hiya! Sorry about the late comment.... Almost a year after the video was made! I loved this (and the last!) Video about Bugsnax, talking and analyzing about the characters and relationships in Bugsnax. It's been my recent obsession, and analysises reslly excite me! As much as I agree with a lot of your points, I do think Triffany's arc is a little different than just being a leader to the expedition team. Truthfully, I think her arc was more so working with people than just leadership. If anything, I think it's more similar to Floofty's than to Filbo's. Perhaps that's why they got along so well. In her quest, she regularly works with the Journalist (I'll just call them Buddy, since that's easier to type) on her archeology digs. Other than that, she mostly stays by herself doing them. In the Bigsnax DLC, she straight up avoids trying to get help from the rest of the team because she doesn't want (or deal with) everyone's bickering. She thinks that she can do it all by herself. This is also implied when you first get her back to town. She explaines to Buddy that she left because Wambus and Gramble were arguing. She admits that it's easier to stay with the bones, alone. She does toy with the idea of being the leader, but being a leader implies some kind of distance between everyone still, especially in the context of Bugsnax. Filbo, the mayor, is the only one who isn't paralleled in the story (unless you count Buddy?), and Lizbert is currently missing, and, although they don't know where Eggabell is since she asked Buddy not to tell anyone, is still considered missing, and therefore alone. I sort of think of it like the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar. The head, which leads the rest of the body, doesn't have legs and isn't green. Therefore, it's harder to be sorted in the same catergory as the body. It's still related and connected, but by a thinner thread, if that makes any sense. However, in this (sort of short?) arc, she learns to rely on other people and to trust them to help. She couldn't get the ruins rubble moved, but she didn't come up with the idea to use Big Sprout to move it out of the way. She's also not very leader-like in this scene? If anything, Floofty's more leaderlike because this is mostly their experiment/creation, and they know about it the most. However, the scene doesn't make it feel like they're in power, rather the opposite. They all feel like equals, people working on a group project naturally, helping out where they can. In short, I think Triffany's arc was more so learning to be equal with people, and therefore closing the distance she's putting between herself and people, rather than being a leader to everyone. Sorry if this is a long comment, and if it doesn't make any sense, I just wanted to share my thoughts in addition to yours.
No no your good i like comments that are on the long side rather than neing to short. Having said that i like the take away you gave, its been a minute since i played the game but from what i remeber of what i was trying to get at was that she's trying to take charge on the exposition. Id argue buddy is the leader because we make the choices our group just has skills we dont so we keep them in line and get things done. Truffiany needing to work with others comes up in the base game too i think, but here its more that shes adversed to conflict, if anything i read it more as a getting over social anxity and all that even if you dont like the person all that much. And like you said it happened wkth her own husband so its just a furtherance of her character and i think that says a lot about the writing of the dlc, its expanding and adding to the stories not making up new ones

She definitely does try to take charge, but personally, I think it's just her way to distance herself. Maybe it's something to do with the Bugsnax. I think the Bugsnax has a way of isolating them, as part of their parasitic nature. It's natural for people to shy away from others due to insecurity, and since the Bugsnax target that, it could be an additional thing seperating her from everyone. The only real exception is the best two characters in the game, Chandlo and Snorpy (my beloved). Still, they have insecurities that sort of drifts them apart, more obvious with Snorpy and keeping his secrets. As for Buddy being the leader, I can definitely see that from both expedition and main story-wise! They helped everyone on the island, leading them to become better people than themselves, and the same thing in the story. They're well liked (in contrast with Filbo, another reason why they're parralleled with him), and sort of takes the role of Liz, who was another leader. Still, they're very hands-off, an objective third party as you say. It also doesn't help that Buddy came much later, seperating them more from everyone else. That's very true! She's always been adversed to conflict, but it's more obvious here. Still, learning to overcome conflict is still part of learning to work with other people, one of the most important things in fact! However, I do really enjoy your reading of social anxiety and respecting someone, even if you aren't the closest! Yes! I personally only just played the game recently, like a week or so, perhaps, and, while I knew this was part of the DLC, it felt very natural and like it was part of the game all along! It really shows the care put into this game!

I love how they actually addressed Snorpy's paranoid delusions. This guy needs help and those around him are acknowledging that. It's also very nice to see some sort of insecurity surrounding Chandlo, considering he "has no secrets" according to Beffica. In reality, he's very worried about his boyfriend's mental health and is trying his best to help him, even if he makes mistakes (like dragging him to a strange unexplored island). Sorry, I just love psychology and mental health topics in video games.
Man, I already absolutely loved this game and especially the dlc but this highlighted things about it that I had never even considered before! I love getting more of a view into how people are affected by media and what they think about them rather than them just stating what happened! this was a very very good video
I'm really glad you addressed how Floofty's arc connects with ND people. I'm autistic and non-binary myself and they make me felt so seen in a way I didn't know was possible, but I'm so glad it's there.

Honestly, I have my doubts about this getting a sequel. What would you even do for it? Make a whole other island or something? Rework the existing one with new snax? What would you do for the story? It just doesn't feel like there's much point to one, perhaps because while the conspiracy exists, the game's focus is largely on the people themselves, the conspiracy is more just an excuse for everything to have happened, in my eyes. But who knows, maybe we'll get one, maybe we won't.
@DraconisLeonidas i agree theres not a lot of setup, but since most characters have a tie to the theory i can see it coming back. Also id like it if they had the snax take over the city we live in. Go full spiderman web of shadows with it, id even take first oerson grapple swinging for those tricky flying snaxs.

Well for one its semantic, a thing you seem to have a particular big bear with. But because dlc is more catchy to the ear rather than an update. Updates are patches or seasons of a game not a whole new island to a one and done story
I mean, i just assumed they were around the same age, but even if that were the case its no different then any other age gap relationship. They're both adults who met well after the age of concent so i have no issue with it.

I like thats free it shows confidence in its story and QoLA. Its basically a teaser for the sequel with the grumpanoty stuff so im ok with that
@@ThinkBoxChris Oh for sure, far be it from me to complain about DLC. Hell, I 100%'d the game a day or two ago and I'm already considering doing it again because it's that fun.
Honestly, I have my doubts about this getting a sequel. What would you even do for it? Make a whole other island or something? Rework the existing one with new snax? What would you do for the story? It just doesn't feel like there's much point to one, perhaps because while the conspiracy exists, the game's focus is largely on the people themselves, the conspiracy is more just an excuse for everything to have happened, in my eyes. But who knows, maybe we'll get one, maybe we won't.
@DraconisLeonidas i agree theres not a lot of setup, but since most characters have a tie to the theory i can see it coming back. Also id like it if they had the snax take over the city we live in. Go full spiderman web of shadows with it, id even take first oerson grapple swinging for those tricky flying snaxs.

Well for one its semantic, a thing you seem to have a particular big bear with. But because dlc is more catchy to the ear rather than an update. Updates are patches or seasons of a game not a whole new island to a one and done story

I mean, i just assumed they were around the same age, but even if that were the case its no different then any other age gap relationship. They're both adults who met well after the age of concent so i have no issue with it.
