key thing to note is a lot of Subaru’s thought processes were cut out in this episode. 1. It’s not the Reinhard wasn’t affected by the influence. he feels the influence which is why he said he needs to finish this quickly 2. In the second loop when Suburu went to the clocktower to save Lusbel, initially Suburu attacks Siris with his whips and throws her down the clocktower which was why his guard was down. Also it cuts out the thought process of Suburu determining how he actually died the second loop. It’s not that he died by the rope but the cycle of fear he was feeling from Lusbel and himself. He literally died from an overwhelming sense of fear. 3. After realizing how Reinhard killed Siris and everyone watching dies, he determined that moving the fight elsewhere would be pointless because it would create new victims because they would be looking at the chaos. 4. Capturing her alive was also not an option due to her brainwashing powers which could drive everyone to madness. It’s a very complex situation to solve in only 10 minutes

I see people connecting Sirius with Fortuna like when Re zero was making us think Emilia is Satella but idk we're dealing with time loops and memories or identities being stolen or erased so anything is possible.
51:07 Subaru told Beatrice to stay with Emiliya in that loop because there is a chance that the witch cult will go after Emiliya. Also he used that loop as an information loop to try and figure out the situation better and also wraths powers. The thing about Arch bishops is that if you fight them without knowing their abilities, you will get screwed regardless of how strong someone is.
Loremaster here part 2! Reinhard is the strongest character in the Re Zero verse, not just in the current era but throughout all of the Re Zero world's history. This is why it seemed so easy for him to defend against Garfiel's attack. "The strongest shield of the sanctuary" was no match for "the strongest in the world." Reinhard's only rivaled by Satella in Re Zero, but neither of the two can truly kill the other, Teppei, Re Zero's author, stated that if they ever fought, that their battle would last for eternity. However, as you just witnessed, he can be beat, just not in the traditional way. This is a nuanced way of "defeating" an OP character, Sirius is sooooooo much weaker than him, yet she still beats him. "A hero is all you can be." Puck's words from Subaru's vision in the unthinkable present ring true here. A hero is all that Reinhard is. Being responsible for the deaths of countless innocents, even unintentional, would destroy him beyond repair. Re zero is a masterclass at writing, managing an OP character that isn't a detriment to the story, and can't be the easy solution to every obstacle. The only series I've seen match writing an OP character like this is Frieren
@Oakland510 Reinhard, in many ways, is the typical OP isekaid chatacter. However, in Re: Zero, he is just a side character. His presence is primarily used to show that not every obstacle within each loop can be overcome just by being OP, as we saw when he killed Sirius. In this world, he IS the nuclear bomb. Some cut content from this season is where Reinhard needed permission to even go to Priestella. Since the city is on a border with another country, his mere presence there without being informed of his reasoning for being there would be seen as an act of war. Back to the main point, his being "beaten" by Sirius provides us the audience with a nuanced approach to overcoming the calamities with characters' wits, using what resources they have around them, combining the strength that each of them do have to take on powerful foes, and gathering information to learn how to best attack the enemy. It may be frustrating that Reinhard isn't too prominent in the story, where he could defeat the majority of the enemies singlehandedly, but it gives a better overall story
I just love the brother-sister-like sibling relationship between Subaru and Beatrice, and how Beatrice is also adopting Subaru’s attitude as well. She definitely looked up to him.

I understand that Subaru's plans are not the best, but you have to take into account the short time and the desperation of the situation. Great video, however S2
This is EASILY the hardest and most unforgiving loop The Witch of Envy has placed Subaru in. Simply due to the VERY limited time window and multiple Archbishops in the same area.
5:26 Remember back in s1 if subaru tells anyone abt Return by Death or even info regarding it he will die. Apparently the conditions vary depending on who the information is being told to and the specifics. He especially can't tell emilia or she will die n later we kinda see him trying to test the amount he can n can't say with beatrice and rachins.
Sirius is talking about betelegeuse.. shes his stalker. And since guese was so addictive to emilia because of the witch of envy (who looks like emilie) she hates emilia.
@@jesuschrist7816 Trust me, they won't find that out. Besides, Sirius is talking about Satella, not Emilia. When Sirius says "It stinks" shes talking about Subaru's stench because it's Satella miasma (stated in anime) Since Emilia beside him with having same everything of Satella including her voice, she thinks shes Satella. Since in Season 1, you would know Petelgeuse had an obsession with Satella Sirius last name has same name as Petelgeuse and says my dead husband

Just watched the first 3 episodes (still sticking to dub on this one lol), and man am I pissed off. This anime really knows how to make u rage out, poor fucking subaru
Loremaster here! This NOT a spoiler. There's an unconfirmed theory involving Sirius' identity, if you notice her features, namely her eye, her ears, and her silver hair, how she takes Petelgeues last name, and how there's a character who had a strong relationship with Petelgeuse before he became Sloth, then you can put together who she most likely is. It is never confirmed however not even in the novels but given a brief shot in the op it's reignited the conversation on this particular theory about her identity, which makes this entire encounter with Emilia super heartbreaking with Sirius' dialogue, and subsequently followed by Emilia's dialogue, talking about the person who complimented her that she loves making her just like the best woman in the world. I want to reiterate that it is never confirmed. A lot of people believe that it's simply way too simple for it to be her, but then again it could be what Teppei, Re Zero's author, wants everybody to overthink about
Honestly, while I was all in with this theory, the dialogue in episode 2 actually made me reconsider - especially the parts where Sirius seems intent on insulting Emilia's appearance (among other things) - which, you know, is actually the same as hers. Given her obsession with Geuse, I feel like it is possible she actually changed herself to fit his 'ideal' type of woman, and that her silver hair and purple eyes aren't actually features she was born with (thus explaining the bandages?). That this ploy didn't actually turn his attention from Emilia probably made her all the more enraged, and all the more willing to disparage those features.
