I do agree that there is a progression of feeling in the song from sad to anger to acceptance. I love how her voice conveys emotion in the song and it contrasts nicely that with the rather monotone beat. The absolute highlight for me is her voice when she sings "my face, I'm" it gave me chills at my first listen and still does. I also love the first line, I am imagining it being dawn and walking trough the mist trough nature and then slowly seeing the lights of your destination starting to appear trough the fog. Most of verse 1 is movement or trying to move the relation, just a few more steps and were there, until in the very last line she gave up.
I think I stopped the episode three times to listen to the song again, the lyrics just fascinate me. I need to be able to listen to the live version on good quality for sad girl autumn PS. I feel personally atacked by the dig at evermore 🥲 she doesn’t deserve that
