  • Basic hem with fleece.
I start with an overcast on raw edges, not necessary with fleece, does not fray. I like to have a finished look on the inside of the garment.
Then do a single fold to the inside of the garment, usually a 1-inch hem on a hoodie jacket. Then flip to the front of the garment and top stitch, with fleece, I use the lighting bolt stretch stitch for topstitching.
In general, I run through the machine twice, instead of using a twin needle. No chance of tunneling that you sometimes get with a twin needle.

I'd like to offer a suggestion, for teaching, it would demo better with a contrasting thread.
    Best regards

I’m trying to learn how to close a very basic quilt. My quilt has a top and bottom layer of fleece and a layer of batting in between. I’ve tried a slip stitch which is hard for me to do as well as I’ve used my walking foot. I don’t like the look of the finished project. They don’t look professional to me. Do you know of a way to close a quilt? I’d appreciate any help you could offer. Thank you so much. Julie
