The eyelets look fantastic, changing the character of the boots just a bit, pushing them back in time---as if they came from another century. But there's no anachronism, no sense of cosplay just very cool boots, and because they are essentially hidden it's your own secret and sensibility. Well-done.
That's a bit misleading if Minoru creates a special overdye to promote them but then delivers a different product. Then again you should keep wearing them over the years to come and see how they age. They will end up looking good still
Minoru's original pair was actually built using a completely different leather, you can find the article with them and other "early" Clinch models in the October 2018 issue of Lightning Magazine, issue Vol.190.
I don't really wear boots with shorts, although residential construction workers do that a lot. I don't wear shorts much to begin with. If I do wear shorts, I usually wear sandals.....In the summer, these days I'm usually wearing 6" boots or shoes like my Oakstreet moccasins or my Red Wing moc toe shoes. I also wear engineer boots in the summer if it's not too hot or if I'm gonna be inside with AC most of the day. I feel like chukkas and shoes are go-to for most people during the summer....Also, I wear wool socks all year round (thinner ones in summertime). Wool breathes better than cotton, even in the summertime.
I'm a logger. A friend recommended this video to pick on me since my corks are 12" tall all eyes (14 eye). Just curious, since these are a fashion boot not a real work boot, what do they cost? My next pair of corks are going to run around $750. Mine are about 20 years old & were rebuilt wrong so I'm going with a different company.
hahaha thanks for stopping by - you're the real deal! I was in construction for 15 years....I've tried Whites, Nicks, Red Wing, Chippewa and others....I'm no logger, but from what I've experienced with these boots, I would get Nicks or JK logger boots. Nicks makes a better product than Whites now - hands down IMHO, so I wouldn't go with Whites. And JK has great reviews from people with hardcore jobs.

Ah yeah the Yeagers are AWESOME! Tbh, if I could do it again and could have only one pair of Clinch, it would be the Yeagers.
Those are nice boots. Thanks, I've never heard of this brand
Thanks! Tbh they're too expensive nowadays, but if you find some used, it's a cool brand to try.

This is super helpful information - thank you so much
Quite right! Cheers
Love the update, Dave. What do you wear on the summer? Do you ever do boots with shorts? Obviously not ones as tall as your clinch.

@@thevintagefuture6567 I was hoping to go with Viberg, but they no longer make real boots. So I went with a different company.
yeaaaaah it sucks that Viberg stopped making work boots for the most part
