  • Those tasked with guiding the UK’s defence and security agenda are confronted with worrying trends. From wars in Ukraine and Gaza to concerns about China’s assertive global agenda and the durability of the US’s commitment to European security, the next UK government will face many pressing international challenges and have limited resources with which to tackle them. At the same time, security matters are increasingly capturing the attention not only of practitioners and expert observers, but also the public at large.
Ahead of the general election, Sir Malcom Rifkind outlines the Conservative Party’s policy on defence and the UK’s international role in a changing world.
This event was chaired by Lord Ricketts, Vice-Chair, RUSI.
Recorded at 61 Whitehall, London on Monday 17 June 2024.

Sound keeps skipping, quite annoying. Other than that, interesting brief, as always.
