Greetings from Ocala, Florida. I have an AMHA white mini (Snowball) and a Shetland pony (Harry Potter.) I love them both. The daily work is a labor of love, and so rewarding.
Hey, I know this is an older video but if you don’t have a solution for the water buckets yet, you can get large pot movers which are like skateboards for heavy garden pots, I got mine from b&q and use it for my water buckets as my mum has issues with her back and it means she can unlock the wheels and move them easily. Saves the bottom of the buckets too! Xx
Very nice video and you have very cute mini horse. I am about to have two Shetland ponies same back of my garden. Although I am thinking open stables. I have seen stables with rubber rugs layed down. So then horses don’t poo inside the stable, but for this the stable has to be opened all night. I’d like to try this rubber floor.
Ok so I just found your Chanel and I love your videos! I have watched all of them including the one where you explain your disability. And I also have degenerative disc disease in my lower back and I also have spinal stenosis which sucks cause it causes the spin to fold in on itself and cause the discs in my back to rupture which is seriously painful and causes numbness, swelling, and a crap ton of pain. I’m currently building a barn for my horse and I’m hoping to get a mini horse as a companion for him. Love your videos, can u make more videos more often?
I’m brand new to minis and I’m getting one soon. Her old owner told me how many scoops but I have no idea how big the scoop is so how big are your scoops? Also how many pounds of hay should I give my mini in the morning and night?
How exciting! It really depends on what you’re feeding. Read the instructions on the back as per weight for the horse and reduce it for the weight of your mini. All feeds are different, so you can’t feed the same amount of everything. Hay wise I give unlimited to mine, so they never stand around for long without food, especially overnight in their stables 😊

I think the miniauture's are great for when you have a problem that makes it so you can't ride but you still want horses in your life. I used to ride but then got a medical diagnosis that made it so I couldn't ride and Now I have 2 miniauture horses
I have already answered this for you on a previous comment. However, I also don’t want to be the reason anyone buys a miniature horse. They generally aren’t a healthy breed sadly and I don’t want to recommend them. Sorry
@@eliseblair140 l always want a miniature pony because l have serebilpolsie and can not ride a horse that why l want a miniature pony so can you help me or not?
Wow. I have already helped you in multiple previous comments and now explained why I cannot recommend them to anyone. They are prone to terrible genetic conditions and vet care is expensive. My help is explaining this to you, so you can make an informed decision before purchasing one. I am just someone who makes fun videos with my horses. You do not need to demand answers from me. It’s very rude to speak to me like that when I have already tried to help. What you buy is your decision. I just won’t ever recommend them after my filly died from a genetic condition, my other filly has half formed bones, again genetic, and my gelding having the same condition with his stifles as my first filly who died.
Check out my newest video with Sapphire. There’s a short clip at the end of her starting her show training. I can however make an in-depth video too! Thanks for the suggestion 😊
aww so cute. i know this is an old video but her hooves look extremely long. just to let you know they need to be trimmed every 5 to 6 weeks and if she is only a baby there why did you clip her?
They are not long, what you are seeing is foal horn. It is slowly rasped away as they grow, but if you take it all off at once it can completely ruin their legs whilst growing. All horses have it at her age. She was clipped as she couldn’t cope with the heat with a full foal coat, it was done before she came to me, but American minis are clipped for shows anyway.
Also, I have owned horses for 15 years now. I can assure you I know when to trim my horses hooves 😉. Getting rid of foal horn too quickly is detrimental to their growth
Haha I sure do! I don’t recommend it to everyone though. I have very specific reasons for having this in a garden, which is due to my disability. They are my therapy and keep me going. If you’re able to look after a horse at a proper stable yard, then it’s definitely a better option ❤️
Multiple spinal conditions that affect my spinal cord - symptoms include partial paralysis of my legs/hands, chronic pain, Gastroparesis (stomach paralysis), had to have my Gallbladder removed, bladder paralysis, and a lot of other fun things. I’m also hard of hearing in my left ear. I’ll make a video one day talking about it in full 😊.
@@eliseblair140 OMG..I'm so so sorry! Hope you keep living the best life you can and aren't always in pain# your doing a great job with the mini ponys and I'm actrully considering buying 2 but I don't knlw if there just as exspencive as big horses??...
Thank you. That means a lot 💕. I’d say they’re pretty much as expensive as keeping an out of work big horse. Obviously they go through less feed, but rugs, livery etc still costs the same. I’m lucky having them at home, so I don’t have the boarding cost. Therefore they cost pennies for me! It really depends on where you live though and how you keep them.
@@eliseblair140 wow.. I thought it would be a lot diffent😂 I would just want 2 in my side yard which Thay would get about acree of land for the Padok and a shelter with feed room but I would just feed hay as it's cheaper and its better for there digestive Trac and for grain I could feed Mimi alfalfa cubes!? You should upload a lot more:):)
You should be good money wise then if you have your own land! Just have the costs of hay, feed and any bits for the minis. My girls are fed on Alfalfa chaff. It’s my favourite feed for almost all horses 👌. I’ll have a new video up tomorrow! Thanks for watching ❤️!
I am OBSESSED with your barn 😭❤️ it’s so cute and petite along with your lil pony, y’all are so cute together ❤️
Aww thank you! 💕
Me too! When I’m in my own place I’m wanting one too, but with enough stalls for at least 6 minis lol
Who ever poured the concrete should of done a broom finish maybe they can send the cutter who can use a grinder to lightly rough it up. Good luck .

You’re a natural at making TH-cam videos! I’ve loved watching your mini horse journey so far! ❤️
I could watch this all day long.. what an amazing set up you have. Both you and your adorable mini are lovely x
Her stable is so cute in your garden!!!!
Biscotti is soooo cute ❤️ it must be amazing to have your own tackroom and look after your own horse again ❤️
Thank you! It really is heaven ❤️
That’s it I’m building a stable in my backyard😂
She’s so small 😍

There’s a pitchfork called fine tines, works great fo minis. We also use shavings called easy pick but not sure if you can get those where you are.
I use the V plast mini fork on a carbon fibre handle now 😁

Exactly what she’s named after! I was going to name my silver filly Amaretti after the biscuits to match, but Sapphire suited her colour more 😁

Nice 👍
You can have a concrete cutter come out they can rough up the surface of the concrete for you in America that is what their trade is concrete cutting
How many hands is she 🥺
Scotti in this video stood at about 27” 💕
Mine does not like her forelock brushed lol
oop now I gotta get rid of my stable n get myself a cool backyard
