This is what KC businesses do best! Use the proximity of the two states to compete for your business! I never worried about the Chiefs moving away. These two states will always bid against each other- against their own self interest. Lol
Kansas has never paid a dime and strongly defeated all contributions. Take the Royals. I am all for just the Chiefs. Split it up. It costs a lot to go now. I can’t imagine what the costs of the tickets will be. They wanted to trash the downtown arts district and no parking. The proposal sucked.
They will move to Kansas. I think, at least for the Chiefs, that stadium will be built south of the Kansas Speedway on the south side of I-70. They have the motivation and revenue from betting.
I tend to agree with you on one or both moving. I think at least the Royals might be willing to move there. You already have a built in "stadium district" of sorts in that area with Sporting KC and the Kansas Speedway. There's plenty of shopping, so there is reason for people to spend time in that area if they are in town for a sporting event. Maybe add a nicer hotel or two and the district is pretty well set.
Yes Please come to Kansas we will take both. Missouri already showed that they no longer want both teams. The New Arrowhead stadium/dome would look sick in the Legend area. And Royals stadium will be perfect downtown KCKS facing toward KCMO side as if giving them a middle finger.
You know why the next Chiefs' stadium WON'T be Arrowhead II? Because it isn't enough for a team to go and WIN Super Bowls anymore---states and cities want to HOST them too. I would not be shocked if eventually every stadium in the NFL with the notable exception of Lambeau Field, plays in a domed stadium. (And don't be shocked if the Brewers' domed stadium is eventually renovated to temporarily host an NFL game so that the Packers can finally host a Super Bowl, albeit not in their nominal city. (The problem with Green Bay isn't the weather, but the size of the city. That isn't a problem for Milwaukee.)
It would be so much more practical and logical to be in Kansas. For any of you who haven’t been here. The Kansas side is WAY more affluent. No, it wouldn’t go exactly where the money is, but it would be much closer to where the bulk of the season ticket holders live. It’s a good move.
Politically, this is a nuclear bomb about to go off - - in both states. It’s not “minimal” when it comes to state revenues/taxes, etc. But can Kansas really afford to pay for everything? Can Missouri afford to lose ‘everything?’
lets be real, KC stadiums both look so out of date and out of place. just build the royals a new on downtown and the chiefs a modern one WITHOUT A TRANSLUSENT ROOF! the cheifs are suberbowl champs and will be superbowl contenders for the next decade, they deserve a new stadium and this championship run will not last forever, mahomes could get injured next seson and the dyansty is over
MLB stadiums belong in urban areas. The KS side of KC is suburban. Would be a huge mistake. May as well leave the Royals where they are. The Royals need to move downtown or they just need to leave KC. The Chiefs should be building a new stadium where Kauffman Stadium is now. Sounds like neither of these will happen now.
Lol, I love it when people compare Kauffman to Wrigley and Fenway. What makes those parks special is their locations. If either of those stadiums were in a location like Kauffman, they would have been torn down decades ago. I have been to every MLB stadium. I love Kauffman, I grew up near it. Even today it's still a top 15 stadium. But it's in a terrible location and the stadium will need a billion dollars in work to keep it going another 40 years. It just does not make any sense to put more money into that stadium in that location. There is no return on investment for the team or the city. Which is why if the Royals do not get a new stadium, they are going to leave KC. Period. If you are a true Royals fan, you would support a new stadium. And if Kauffman was so great, they would draw more than 9-11k fans they do on most nights. KC is nearly last in all of MLB in attendance and they are playing very well this year.
The Royals want a downtown stadium. They cant go to kansas if they want a dowtown stadium because there is no downtown in kansas. Theres one location where it could work right across the state line thats 5 minutes from downtown but it is a big industrial hub and makes them to much money to put in a stadium that makes no money. I think it's more likely that a chiefs stadium is built in kansas near the Speedway and Childrens mercy park. I think the royals will stay with the downtown KC location.
The Royals want *_any_* new stadium as long as it's primarily funded by someone other than the owners. Downtown was the only viable location in _Jackson County._
@@oubrioko The whole reason the Royals are leaving Kaufman is because poor attendance caused by lack of quick and easy access to the stadium that encourages high attendance numbers. If they're not building right on State Line then there's no point in a new stadium becuase they will run into the exact same problem. Fischer knows this and won't take the kansas deal because of it but still wants the deal on the table for leverage with jackson county. Until there's renderings and a location for the Royals kansas side stadium I'm not going to believe it one bit.
@@sammedley3232 That is not the "whole" reason. Sherman and Co. even considered moving to the Northland (Clay County), and released artists renderings and possible locations. Of course they ideally want it to be located adjacent to entertainment infrastructure, but make no mistake - they want a *new* stadium due to the significant financial MLB benefits that come with stadium debt (which they currently don't have), given that debt is an escalator in the MLB revenue sharing formula. No, they are not going to come right out and explicitly admit that, but they tipped their hand when Sherman openly began considering the East Village, Clay County, and eventually settled upon the Crossroads. They want a new stadium *_period_* ...as long as they can get _someone_ else to be the primary financier.

I’m curious about 80% of #KS’ sports betting money to attract a team on their side. I wonder how much they get from it. I’m thinking between $200-500M. If so, then that might be enough to build a new venue for one of the two. Anyway, Royals owner John Sherman made it explicitly clear that he wanted a DT ballpark. The state of KS can’t afford 2 venues. Only one can move. KS could get NONE if Chiefs stick with Arrowhead renovation, but they could get a new stadium 25 yrs. later. For Royals, I doubt both KS & #MO can afford a DT ballpark or anywhere. It’s the owners’ way or move down the highway. For the Royals, I could still personally see them move to #SLC, #UT, because their new ballpark is closer to their DT.
They’re leaving Missouri. And all the loss of revenue to the state from losing those two teams will cause your taxes to go up to help compensate for the loss.
If I were the Mayor Governor or President I would tell the owners to pay for the stadium or either move it to another city or state or sell the team to the new owners who'll pay for it themselves and taxpayers money wibe useful for things like improving Mental health
This is how it will probably go. The Chiefs will move to Kansas, where all the money and fat cats are. Then they’ll find a way to make the entire metro MO/KS area taxpayers to pay for it all. The Fat cats will get big tax write offs, luxury accommodations and pay little to nothing. The main change they wanted Jackson County voters to pay for were luxury boxes for them! Why don’t they ask taxpayers what they want, if they are being asked to pay for it. The only reason the Royals are getting a new stadium is for their new investor Patrick Mahomes. Guessing. That’s also why a women’s soccer team arena was built for Mrs. Mahomes. No one cares about women’s soccer. This town did not support a men’s soccer team or Basketball team for that matter. This upheaval is going to blow up their dynasty.
Before I say this, I want you to know that I don't think neither the Chiefs or Royals should move from Truman Sports Complex. That being said: Sporting KC literally just sold out Arrowhead 2 weeks ago. It was the 3rd highest attended game in MLS history. The soccer team outdraws the Royals...and I hate soccer, and love the Royals! Lol! When you say, "This town did not support a men's soccer team..." You're absolutely right. That's why they moved to Kansas. Kansas lawmakers are at least trying to keep the Chiefs in the KC metro area, since Jackson County apparently doesn't want them. (Just kidding, but that is how they are going to play it) I don't believe that taxpayers should have to foot the bill for a new stadium, but if that is what happens, and Kansas voters support it, then so be it. It's not going to affect the Chiefs "dynasty" or attendance if they move 20 miles down I-70. It's just going to hurt the feelings of some nostalgic KCMO and Jackson County residents. The main benefit of either the Chiefs, or Royals for that matter, moving to the Legends area, is that it is an already-established entertainment district that just continues to grow. New subdivisions, new schools, new hotels, and a growing tax-revenue base that shows no sign of slowing down. The towns between Lawrence and KCK/Lenexa are booming, even in a horrible economy. (Have you been to DeSoto, Tonganoxie, or Eudora in the past 5 years?) The area around Truman, for one reason or another never really materialized into anything other than football, baseball, and a Denny's across the street. Either way, I really don't care. I grew up out in central Kansas as a Steelers fan, because the Chiefs were ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL in the late 70's and 80's, and I've never jumped on the Chiefs bandwagon. But, I definitely don't want to lose either team to a city like Austin, St. Louis, Portland, Salt Lake, or to some stupid place like London or Munich.
Yay, more disposable billion dollar sports stadiums, that will be deemed obsolete in 10-15 years, and then the public will have to pony up billions more, for newer stadiums.
Its a limited resource, and their is always another city that is willing to pay. It sucks, and any city that does it should not receive federal funds, but its what it is, and crappy as it is.

@dieselhrt5492 Jackson County is located on the west side of Missouri while Jefferson County is located on the east side of Missouri.
As long as we’re the Kansas City Chiefs
This is what KC businesses do best! Use the proximity of the two states to compete for your business! I never worried about the Chiefs moving away. These two states will always bid against each other- against their own self interest. Lol
Kansas has never paid a dime and strongly defeated all contributions. Take the Royals. I am all for just the Chiefs. Split it up. It costs a lot to go now. I can’t imagine what the costs of the tickets will be. They wanted to trash the downtown arts district and no parking. The proposal sucked.
I wish you make what if north tower never gets hit😢
They will move to Kansas. I think, at least for the Chiefs, that stadium will be built south of the Kansas Speedway on the south side of I-70. They have the motivation and revenue from betting.
I tend to agree with you on one or both moving. I think at least the Royals might be willing to move there. You already have a built in "stadium district" of sorts in that area with Sporting KC and the Kansas Speedway. There's plenty of shopping, so there is reason for people to spend time in that area if they are in town for a sporting event. Maybe add a nicer hotel or two and the district is pretty well set.
This is going to hurt Missouri alot considering they're both real Missouri teams and not just KC teams.
"authoritize?" Uh, that's not a word, dude. Did you go to school at all?
He didn't go to college and practically brags about barely passing high school. Dude's clueless.
they got the draft already
Yes Please come to Kansas we will take both. Missouri already showed that they no longer want both teams.
The New Arrowhead stadium/dome would look sick in the Legend area. And Royals stadium will be perfect downtown KCKS facing toward KCMO side as if giving them a middle finger.
So basically you want Missouri to suffer don't you kid?
Makes since the Legends is & will be buried in debt forever so let's cook those books agian.
A city having an argument about where to spend money! Kansas or Missouri are in a great position.
Arrowhead stadium is eternal, that's chiefs kingdom. Chiefs aren't going anywhere.
I guess if they do move, KC Missouri can put a dome on it and watch the Chiefs play on Jumbotrons
It would be so much more practical and logical to be in Kansas. For any of you who haven’t been here. The Kansas side is WAY more affluent. No, it wouldn’t go exactly where the money is, but it would be much closer to where the bulk of the season ticket holders live. It’s a good move.
Then they wouldn't be a real Missouri team anymore and plus Kansas doesn't have the near much beautiful like Missouri does.
"Authoritizing...?"
Politically, this is a nuclear bomb about to go off - - in both states. It’s not “minimal” when it comes to state revenues/taxes, etc. But can Kansas really afford to pay for everything? Can Missouri afford to lose ‘everything?’
They should move there is way more space and flat land on the Kansas side to build.
Would the Chiefs really leave Arrowhead
STOP GIVING BILLIONAIRES OUR TAX MONEY !!! give it to me
If çhiefs stay would stay at Arrowhead would they get a new stadium????
Arrowhead is iconic. Why need a new stadium?
lets be real, KC stadiums both look so out of date and out of place. just build the royals a new on downtown and the chiefs a modern one WITHOUT A TRANSLUSENT ROOF! the cheifs are suberbowl champs and will be superbowl contenders for the next decade, they deserve a new stadium and this championship run will not last forever, mahomes could get injured next seson and the dyansty is over
You contradicted yourself multiple times in the same sentence. (If we can call that a sentence).
Arrowhead needs to be torn down , it’s very old and it’s about time the chiefs push harder for a new stadium
Kansas is being used so Missouri will offer more
Exactly
Depressed ginger did you hear about the proposed new Kansas City ks chiefs NFL dome stadium with renderings
There is nothing wrong with Kaufman Stadium. It’s 60 years younger than Wrigley Field. Please keep the K!!!
Pipedream.
New stadiums and arenas are literally the LAST thing we need in this country
Gloom and doom
These players they are getting millions of dollars p we are not even talking about what the owners are making how do you respect the public pay for tickets pay for food pay for souvenirs and payout for the stadium I don't understand why the players don't pay for their own damn stadiums they want to play sports all day lives they get millions of dollars why don't they pay for their own stadiums makes no sense pay for their own stadiums
Your in contract Till 2031 where your At right now. Tell the billionaires - You Pay For It
This will never ever happen.
It's happening. Jackson County can't compete.
Yes it will 😂
This is a lot of tax revenue to gain or to lose depending on how this goes down.
We have gambling hear and some of that can and will go to pay for it however it’s the chiefs we are pushing for because nobody wants it to go to Texas
Maybe the White Sox might take Kansas up on that offer.... 😉🙃
The bonds could be used to fund a max of 2 stadiums, must be MLB, NFL, NHL, or NBA, so the Sox would qualify.
Royals will get a new stadium in downtown KCMO. Chiefs will move to KCKS by the racetrack.
Plus Missouri won't have any team to represent other than the St.Louis Blues Hockey team and St.Louis Cardinals baseball team.
It's going to take 5 years for this to pan out
Well I guess chiefs fan can enjoy being at arrowhead for those five years until they become irrelevant.
Before I say this, I want you to know that I don't think neither the Chiefs or Royals should move from Truman Sports Complex. That being said:
Sporting KC literally just sold out Arrowhead 2 weeks ago.
NUMBER FEPHTEENUH THE RROYALS, JUST MIEGHT MOUVE TO THEEH KHANSAS CITEE SIUDE UF KAHNSAHS. THES ES CRAZY. A POHTENHTIALNDEVELOPMENT.
I grew up in Omaha I always thought the Chiefs played in Kansas not Missouri for to long 😂
Cities just don't learn; begging teams
Its a limited resource, and their is always another city that is willing to pay. It sucks, and any city that does it should not receive federal funds, but its what it is, and crappy as it is.
@@CaptRR taxpayers should not fund stadiums
Clark Hunt does not want a new stadium. If it happens it will be because he has absolutely no other choice.
Bye can’t afford to go anyway
Please......
Move the Chiefs to New Jersey. We don't have our own NFL football 🏈 team. LOL. 👌
You have more NFL teams in New Jersey than 46 other states have. LOL
@@oubrioko Not when you have teams like the NY Jets and Giants who physically play in the Borough of East Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey, but call themselves New York teams.
The only NFL from New York is the Buffalo Bills. LOL. 👌🤦♂️
@@TheRoadTripChannel True, but many states have zero NFL franchises playing home games with spectators spending time and money within their state. New Jersey is the most densely populated state, but most of that high density is in the metropolitan areas of major cities located in other states. New Jersey really doesn't have a native anchor city of its own. This is part of the reason why the Nets left for "Brooklyn," in-part for branding purposes.
That's never going to happen The Chiefs can stay to trumen sports complex Renovat of arrowhead stadium and The royals can go to the different county Missouri like Clay County or stay in Jackson County pick different location like east village north of Kansas city, Missouri and It comes to Kansas they're just trying to pitch them for try give lot of money move team over across state lines
KCK is looking to up its big brother.
Yuck
We don't want you in kansas either, not with the TAX INCREASES
Relocate Oklahoma City
The OKC Chiefs. That actually has a nice ring to it.
Never!
They're going to re-locateuh... The Depressed Gingeruh the great franchise mover... They're not going anywhere Ginger stop with the nonsense
Don’t listen to this fool I live here and nothing has been said
No public funds!
Neither team would be supported by your BS on the Kansas side which isn't the supportive group. I'd find another team to support I'm not supporting your bs
Move the Chiefs back to the Cotton Bowl, their original home.
If they're going to move, the owner wants a *_new_* stadium with contemporary amenities, not a nearly 100-year old relic that was built before the Great Depression
@@oubriokoThat's why the Cowboys left the place for Texas Stadium, it was a dump
