Saw these girls at head in the clouds and they by far had the most thought out set. Choreography, visuals, vocal performance and PROPS felt way under appreciated and overachieved for having the very first set of the entire festival. Wish they had more eyes on them that day, but I can’t sit here and lie and say I meant to catch them at all. They made a fan of me and I hope they achieve everything they’re looking to do!!!!
@@stratos10able objectively? no. their harmonies are weird and the production isn’t great, but subjectively? that’s what makes it so good. try listening to “dokubana.” there’s no auto tune, the voices go off-pitch, the drums clip the audio, and the guitar solos are all a mess. but that’s exactly what they’re going for. a chaotic and atrocious song about a poisonous flower. or how about “shiken zenya”. the song has about 5 notes in total. it’s repetitive nature will drive you insane and by the end of it you’ll be ripping your hair out. but once again, that’s exactly what they want. it’s a song about cramming for an exam the night before. the lyrics are just a list of difficult vocabulary words. weird, right? or how about “koi geba”. a rock infused beat with a heavy guitar solo juxtaposed with a soft piano solo. the vocals have a harsh effect over them, but once again it makes sense. it’s a brutal song about having a relationship with a teacher and the forbidden love that many fall victim to. or even “amayo no seppun” and “koinosyadanki”. one an innocent love song, the other a story of betrayal. their jazzy feel will get you bouncing your legs and you’ll soon forget about the subpar mixing or amateur vocals. i could keep going but i’m sure you get the point: you shouldn’t like this music at first. if you do, you’re either tone deaf or at least a little crazy. but after a while it grows on you. you get addicted to the wacky beats and start predicting the weird harmonies that follow. and if you don’t like it? that’s okay. that’s exactly why there are tons of different genres out there. listen to whatever makes you happy and don’t spend your energy hating on the things you don’t understand.
After watching the "making-of" video and realizing most of the people there are actually just by-standers to whom the girls introduced themselves and asked for help, makes this video more a "Free Your Mind" thing.
It is hard to explain why I like this group of girls so much. It’s as if when they start dancing and singing they become a pure embodiment of youth and joy. How can anybody not love that?
This is so catchy and all but i miss the old school AG songs like Que Sera Sera, Koi Bumi and Tomei Boy which have more story telling and artistry. But I will enjoy this English speaking era of AG :) Hoping for more success!

I can understand this feeling of recent nostalgia for older songs, but it's clear how happy they are and how much they enjoy experiencing musically. They are very young, i'm sure they will play with even more styles and work with different artists. It is part of self-awareness. And as youth representatives, it's kind of their duty to be like that hahahaha The important thing is that the quality remains super dope.
I love when they use english in their songs even though they're not really as ""deep"" as other's are complaining... everything these girls do is so creative!!
The list of 'deep' pop lyrics is pretty shallow imo. It doesn't matter with these ladies, as their performances are so far above what anyone else is doing.

I watched Tokyo Calling and thought, hah! I like another jpop song besides Baby Metal-Gimme Chocolate. Not only one song , but their catalog is loaded with great stuff! This is an amazing video! The choreography, dancing, and their personalities are a step above.
All the songs in the new EP are crazy good, after listening to Pineapple Kryptonite I thought they were gonna change their style too much into electronic but they actually managed to keep their essence. I love how 'Candy' could be straight out of Cyberpunk 77 and 'Fantastico' has this 80s Italo Disco vibe I love so much.

The English parts are REALLY GOOD. There’s a lot of songs that use English just “to be cool”, and they are very approximative, but here it’s very very good English!
I recently heard their music and they're better than the majority of K-pop groups I love. the concept, the vibes, their style.....it's unique. They don't chase trends. They embrace being weird, goofy, and fun. If they were a K-pop group then would have been freaking obscure.
