O LORD of hosts, almighty King,
the praises of your house I sing.
How lovely is your habitation!
Your holy courts I yearn to see;
faint with desire, I long to be
where pilgrims join in celebration.
My heart and flesh with joyful shout
to you, the living God, cry out
there is nothing more beautiful than singing praise to God Almighty.
We were there❤. It was such a beautiful evening! In a couple of weeks there will be another evening like this with Andre Nieuwkoop in the great church of Dordrecht😊.

I really like the Dutch protestant psalms sung with a male upper voice. It is old fashioned but a nice memory for me.

Never been inside the Grote Kerk, but Dordrecht is one of my favourite cities in the Netherlands. You should visit it when you come here.

Yes, Andre is a true gifted person. Let’s give God all the thanks and praise. So grateful we have these beautiful Psalms. So glad we have Andre to play these beautiful Psalms. Thanks.
God did not write these psalms and hymns, men did. Praise be to creative men and women.

Those headphone he has on his head. Is for hearing whether the people below are singing loud enough. Where the organ can perhaps give more volume, or give the volume of the organ less. So that the organ or the audience below does not become too dominant.

Greetings from Germany. We sing the same psalms in our German language on the same tunes, but not so majestetic. Then I go to the Netherlands to make this experience. I miss your lovely cat.
It is not that every church has such a good organist is André is!
It’s beautiful singing with a church organ and ‘bovenstem’ (a voice above). For me Dordrecht is a half hour drive, for you it’s a longer journey. On next may 18, 2023 @ 7:30 pm is the next time in the Great Church of Dordrecht with André Nieuwkoop.

I live on the other side of the river in Zwijndrecht but Dordrecht is where I was born. This church is in walking distance for me.
Beautiful sound and great filming. Not a fan of this a-rhythmic singing however and glad that the organ player is compensating for that every-time the crowd is catching a new breath!
