The Dassault Rafale (French pronunciation:[ʁafal],literally meaning "gust of wind",and "burst of fire" in a more military sense),is a French twin-engine,canard delta wing,multirole fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation.Equipped with a wide range of weapons,the Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy,interdiction,aerial reconnaissance,ground support,in-depth strike,anti-ship strike and nuclear deterrence missions.The Rafale is referred to as an "omnirole" aircraft by Dassault.

Worked on Dassault Mirage in the early 90's and our South African version of the Mirage 3 which is the Cheetah in South Africa. Israeli Airforce produced the Kafir - also variant of the Dassault Mirage 3 The Mirage was an aged fighter aircraft but extremely rugged and capable flying machine. Always something magical about a delta wing fighter Aircraft. Rafale is the child of all those aircraft. Cannot help to feel the same attraction.

A jet that has replaced 8 different jets in the French Navy and Air Force is not something that can be taken lightly. The French call it an 'omnirole' fighter - way better than a multirole fighter. And it is combat-proven and effective too. What's not to like about it? Vive La France!

cet avion fait 10 tonnes à vide et 24.5 tonnes masse maxi

@@skyrider6772 In fact it's the opposite .Since the 2000's the rafale participated to a lot of competitions like in Korea where the rafale performed the best having the best note out of 4 planes (rafale / F-15 / Eurofighter / Su-35) the Su-35 had the worst note of all plane. Another example is in Brazil in 2014 where the Su-35 was excluded of the fianl choice because it was too bad especially in maintenance.
There's a lot of example like this since the 2000's the only reason the rafale didn't sell is because America put pressure on gouverment to buy American plane.
@@col.waltervonschonkopf69 SU-35 has thrust vectoring , 0.25 mach higher speed, more powerfull radar.. Missiles are matter of choise of course on both planes. Advantage of Rafale is number of hardpoints.

In my view and going by what you have said, thrust vectoring seems to be the only real advantage Su-35 has over Rafale because fighter aircraft have been getting slower and not faster as all that high speed is rarely used in combat missions.
