I really like your idea of that small DRO, commercial solutions that small are expensive, are you planning adding more axis or your proposal is use many as needed?
Thank you! At this moment I have 3 other PCBs waiting for to be designed and assembled, so at this moment I am not planning to add more axes. However, it would be a fun future project. It would need another MCU, because the ATtiny85 would not be able to handle let's say 5 axes (x, y, z, r, t). Right now, I would suggest 1 of this board per axis.
Hello how are you, nice video as all ways and have seen other videos, nice way to conect TS100 to a 24 v powerr supply, will do that. I have commented in video ( 300 mm DRO with Arduino (ATTiny85 and Nano) ) for using rotary encoder as DRO connected to a ball screw 4mm pitch or movemant in one revolution to read or display on screen. In this video or you last video reading is for PPR and R/M, for DDR let say Rotary Encoder 400PPR connected to a Ball Screw with 4mm movemant in one revolution eg 4mm one turn divide in to 400PPR = 0.01mm for each PPR turn, if 800PPR are used then you get 0.005mm per 1PPR , and I think to use encoder PPR to match lead of Ball Screw so you dont get od number when is divided like 0.00532 better to have 0.005 than 0.00532, RPM is not needed for DDR. 2 PCB in 1 PCB and one Axis for each Z and X with a Bluetooth to connect to aTouchDRO from google Play store. Can you do PCB and Software for it .thank you .
Hi, I am fine thanks and I hope you're doing well too! I would say that the PPR should be up to the requirements of the project rather than to personal preferences. Also, for displaying the numbers, you can always use rounding, and the software "doesn't care" about the extra digits, it can work with those. I am pretty sure I could make that PCB, even the software as well, but I am not going to work on it for free. Sorry, but I am not doing anything on requests for free.
No offense were taken, don't worry! I am not planning to enter the DRO market, so I think I will not put any efforts in developing software for this specific hardware. I just share those things which I enjoy doing and that's all. If people want to use it, they can use it. If people want me to develop something for them, they can approach me and we can make a deal.
Very cool implementation!
Thank you!
